Sonthert
Its generally an acclimation issue. It usually happens when the humidity goes up especially when it starts raining.
Helix746
i guess so, i have never had any acclimation problems with other flavors. i usually just get it let it sit out for an hour and its good to go then let it sit out for a half hour before packing, but i guess i need to let brambleberry do some more acclimating

Helix746
it smells delicious its not like soy sauce or whatever it smells like it has had enough acclimation time but there isnt much flavor when i actually smoke it
jeremyk
you should be getting good flavor if it smells good. i have some brambleberry right now and it has a nice dewberry flavor maybe your putting to much coal on it.

Helix746
so i have let the brambleberry sit out since i made this post from 5 30pm til 3 am, i can definitely notice a difference is smell it is much sweeter smelling then it was before, i am smoking now and there is more flavor but i think i burned it when i first made this post and just now, i was trying hookahjohns method of putting 4 whole coco's on and it was way too much heat for my small bowl, so i think burning may have been most of the culprit but the only way to find out is to pack a new bowl and smoke again so i will try it again tomorow with my normal amount of coal, 2 coco's cut in half evenly distrubuted around the outside of the bowl. Helix746
tried some more brambleberry tonight, used less coal, packed it exactly the same way i pack og oj soda(which always smokes great) and it still isnt workin out for me. less coal is no clouds no flavor, more coal is good clouds no flavor, ton of coal is harsh no flavor, i guess brambleberry just isnt the flavor for me. Sonthert
You can avoid it, but if we find a solution to that particular acclimation issue, then try it again.
