Storing Shisha In Plastic Sandwich Bags

Recommended Posts

I bought 10 different 50g flavors of AF shisha a little while ago, and was just wondering if its alright to store them in resealable ziploc-type bags. I just don't have that many tupperware containers.

then that would mean glass keeps flavor?

but if it were tangiers, wouldn't glass jar keep it in it's own humidity, and then when opened, would go into humidity shock?

glass jars are more air tight then sandwich bags so yes your actually right, plus sandwich bags has that plastic bag smell to it that over time can mix with the shisha where has with the glass jar it will only smell like whats inside so yes again your right glass keeps the flavor better laugh.gif , and since tangiers wont acclimate to save my life the second part of your question can not be answered by me laugh.gif

I used to do that until I discovered tupperware and mason jars...

some of the flavor does absorb into the plastic, but not enough to dampen the flavor of your smoke

I think mason jars and tupperware are just way more convenient.

okay that sounds right, the local costco warehouse has these glass tupperware containers that i'll most likely use to hold my tangy. I hope it doesnt put it in climate shock.

I use them on the 50g packs and put them back in the box. 50g's don't last months around me, and honestly even for 4 months I haven't noticed flavor loss.

I keep it in the same bag it comes in for 50g, and use the tub the 250s come in, Always wondered why some people dont.

Sometimes the tubs/tins may not be airtight, and for the bags, well thats what i did, opened up the top, packed a bowl then folded up the bag and put it back in the box. Don't underestimate the power of the glycerin to seep out, it didn't ruin those batches but it made the box sticky and that loss of glycerin is potential clouds right there, so keeping it in the little tupperware containers is easy, organized, and reliable

You don't have to worry about the seeping with dry shisha like nakhla, but they don't even package in bags for 50g, just wrap it in a piece of plastic, so leave it in that and it will dry out soon (did for me at least) Edited by Bandito

Ive found personally, storing in plastic tubs, it tends to asorb the flavour and smell of that specific shisha, once its put in there for an extended peroid of time you basically cant put any other shisha in there. Also certain containers arent air tight so smells mix if there stored in the cabinet or something like that. Id prefer glass over anything but breakage factor is slightly higher.

I used to put them in sandwich bags and back in the tins but I've noticed that it isn't air tight or my flavor wasn't all that good. I've started moving everything to glad sandwich containers. Takes up more room but they don't leak, make for less mess and you can re-use them just need a good cleaning.

As mentioned before, the plastic type used in the bags would absorb the coloring and parts of the flavoring giving you a weaker overall product. If you keep the shishas in the bags it came in then put those in a plastic bag the effect would be reduced greatly but still have a chance of happening.

So generally, I'm getting the idea that glass is superior to plastic any day of the week, minus the chance of climate shock. Looks like I'll be investing in some Mason jars...

mason jars work great, i havent had any climate shock issues personally
