NIGHTS OF BAGHDAD
honestly its very insulting to women with breast cancer and to the family's involved..it like they made a big joke out of it, imagine watching this vid and you have breast cancer or know of a family member or friend who has it and you sit there watching this woman in a tiny bikini jiggle her tits..can you really take this ad seriously? especially when shes in the pool with her wet shirt showing her nipples..its a complete joke and insult..especially to the women who have to go thru having 1 or both of there breast removed due to cancer..complete joke and should be banned from tv..btw, i hit reply on this thread a few times then x'd it out because i wanted to make sure i had a kool head before typing..has a person whos best friends mom died from breast caner..and my uncle who died from stomach cancer..ok its not breast but cancer is cancer..so i wanted to make sure i wouldnt say anything that would get me suspended

Pardon the hell out of we women for not tolerating that and taking matters into our own hands and bringing it to public awareness in order to raise the funds and find a cure.'Rani

Just thought I'd throw up my 5 mins worth of research here, I don't really have an opinion in the matter...( http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factshe...esearch-funding )( http://apps.nccd.cdc.gov/uscs/Table.aspx?G...5&Display=n )
NIGHTS OF BAGHDAD
ya but those dollar numbers are recent when they started bringing so much attention to it these last few years with the charity events and the walking for breast cancer..thats when the funding started to come in..before that breast cancer was put on the back burner.. But also true is that I said "diseases", not prostate cancer versus breast cancer specifically. But here's another reason behind the current funding distribution you show here. Prostate cancer (although there are exceptions) is generally a very slow growing cancer. According to a report I heard some time ago when my former father-in-law was dealing with it, most prostate cancer victims will die from something else while having the disease. My father-in-law had it 22 years before succumbing to complications of it. Untreated breast cancer kills within three years and often within months of diagnosis. Which is partially why presently prostate cancer gets less research dollars as compared to breast cancer - the mortality rate is lower over the early years after diagnosis. Yet until public awareness, research for breast cancer was almost non-existent. Just as cervical cancer until very recently had almost no research for it. Most researchers in history have been male and I suppose it's a natural inclination to find cures for what you as a male researcher could be victim to. So women did what women almost always end up doing. Doing it for themselves becauser nobody is doing it for us.'Rani
Arcane
i still gotta check out the vid when i get home...but, unless its flatout derogatory or insulting...i think anything that leads to more breast cancer awareness is great...i've been supporting the Susan G. Komen Foundation for 9 years now...don't know anyone with breast cancer, but i'm all for supporting boobs...

destructo
NOB if you would actually read instead of trying to talk over me to look right maybe youd see what im talking about.point1: why is there a cut off at age of people with cancer where 1000's of people stop careing since you arent a child with cancer. you are still the same person and still have cancer it shouldnt matter.point2:people pretend to care because its the cool thing and it pisses me off. remember when teh support the troops ribbon was cool or the livestrong bands? how many people do you see with them now? the other day at work someone said "you look like your dog died today" and i told him he was put down and they said oh im sorry. really? are you really sorry or just saying it? actually i was pissed off at how my assignment was graded.point3:i do care about cancer because everyone in my family has died from it minus my uncle that had a heart attack and my 103 year old great great grandmother who died of old age. but im not a soccer mom that wears the pink shirt with 13 ribbon on her van so she looks important at the pta meeting or the rich guy that cuts a 2 million dollar check on the 50 yard line so he can get a tax breakall and all im not going to reply to this thread since you fell its ok to selectively ignore parts of my post
