I can inquire through the wholesale channels...if you guys want. Get a better price. Get 10 of them or so. Or you can let Nazar do it. Either way.

wish i had the money. I'm with Walt, i really like the hose and vase mainly. i still think it would be awesome to see what you could get them for though. If the vase or hose is cheap enough i might be able to afford one.

Oh by the way, those hoses are very old school leather and are distinctly not washable. I remember asking around the Istanbul nargile shops if they had a washable hose and the answer was no -- or rather "why would you want to wash a hose? you don't need to wash a hose..."

Do you have any experience with those pipes?

Yeah the Turkish made pipes don't have purge valves. You can find pipes with purge valves there but they'll be imported.

You know I smoked nargile several times in Istanbul and can't for the life of me remember anything about clearing the smoke--what does one do? Oddly, in Beirut the pipes have valves, but I never have to clear, whereas in the Gulf, they have valves and I have to clear. Bizarre, eh?

By the way, here is a standard hose at a garden variety Istanbul sidewalk cafe:
(oh, and he's 6'3" to give you some idea of how enormous those handles are)

Vents are relatively new in hookahs anyways. I rarely use mine.

I've seen quite a few Syrian pipes from 10 years ago or so that also lack vents. Egyptians started it, I would imagine, Syria followed along a little later, and Turkish pipes are still...coming on to them? Interesting, though.
