Lobster
Hey guys... I just wanted to ask about the differences in smoking tangiers with other shisha. I pack a loose bowl all the way to the top, use foil and poke many holes. Then I try different numbers of coals, but it always hurts my lungs, and I never get much smoke. I keep hearing tangiers smokes like a freight train, but I can get nothing compared to al waha mint, or some of the romann. Any tips? it's just not smoking for me (the flavor is awesome though)
Cornellius
I use unbranded home made shisha and planning to make my own for home smoking well well I enjoy smoke like a smoke bomb ^^
mushrat
Carn: that was helpful... MY personal experience with tangiers: Pack the bowl almost to the top. cover with foil or screen (if im using the Tangiers bowl, i still have to use foil) Put the equivilant of 3/4 of a quicklite worth of natural or finger coals, (i mean this, use so little coal you will think it can;t possibly work, if it doesn't, add a VERY small piece...trust me) and make sure the chair I'm sitting in has arms.. Sit and smoke... Most people just start with too much heat and it gets worse from there.... $.
Sonthert
Since my tobacco is less dense, if you pack it too lightly it will draw poorly, smoking weakly and harshly...try adding more tobacco.
JByer323
Patience. The end results are worth it.

surfpico
Well, see, I was worried that Tangiers brand just plain sucked, but now that I know the secret....That it doesn't.Will have to pack my bowl a little bit tighter and use a bit less coal.
JByer323
Use foil as well. I've had zero luck with screens.
Lobster
Last night I tried it again. I uncrumbled all the pieces and pack them in there nicely. Then I stretched the foil over the bowl making sure not to touch tobacco. I broke up a 3/4 piece of three kings and put it on the side. Same result.... The smoke was unbelievably thin and harsh. I got a good buzz, but it may have been from just puffing and puffing to get it going Next time I guess I'll try packing a lot in there, I just can't seem to get it right. It sucks too... cause this Tangiers has AMAZING flavor and gives you a good buzz, I'm sure that if I get it going with the thick plumes of smoke it will be the finest tobacco I've tried. I had to resort to my al waha apple/mint mix... Light bowl, lots of coal, so much smoke you can't see anything. I gotta get this right.... Thanks guys

Lobster
tried again to no avail.... I packed it tighter this time and all I got was crap, about at thick as cigarette smoke. If I put to little coals on, it does nothing. If I put to many coals on, it just gets harsh, not more smoke. Maybe I got a bad batch?
Sonthert
OK, try putting less in then. I also don;t advocate leaving a gap between the foil and the tobacco.
