Grad School Woes...

You know when you're in middle school and your teachers ask you to write a 1 page essay and you're like "awww man, a whole page!?"

Then when you get to high school, freshmen year, you're asked to write a 2-3 page essay and you're like "aww man, 3 whole pages!?"

Then when you're a junior or senior you're asked to write a 5 page essay and you're like HOLY CRAP!? 5 PAGES!?

Maybe if you were like me you had to write a senior thesis and do a 10-15 page essay and thought your world was going to end before you graduated high school?

Then you get to college, and the teacher says 5-10 pages and you might mumble and grumble a bit but you're not as down about it as you were in high school.

Then you start taking upper division classes and 10-15 pages become the norm.

Then, you get to grad school, and when you're asked for 20-25 page essays once a week, you hardly bat an eyelash.

Well, I'm batting my eyelashes because this is the 5th 20 page essay I've had to write for this class and it's only mid-term.

id always hate doing papers. if it was a 5 page paper id write 3 pages and finish my point then need to make up 2 pages of filler bullshit. for my rhetorics class we had to write a 10 page paper and i was only at 5 so i asked the professor and he said that he really didnt care the length. so i felt bad with 5 pages and got it to 7 and got an 86 on it

53 pages for a thesis? Wow, easy. Glad I want to go into that field. 53 pages is nothing for a thesis. I have a psychology major friend who had to get his thesis bound it was so long (required 200+ pages I think)

Then again, I've also heard I'm going to get to write 30+ pages about concrete sometime during senior year. Awesome.

i think he has more to do since when i went over his place to watch the game saturday he said part 1 was due monday so id assume that he has at least 1 more part. it could be make some model or something, who knows

while 20 pages is not by any means easy, i did find that my 20 page history paper was easier than a 20 page composition paper, so there is a gleam of light lol

Well what is your major?

last year i had to do a 15 page paper on wireless security. needless to say, about 5 pages were totally off topic and were about the encryption security that wireless uses. mind you this wasnt how they used it it was on the schemes like RC4 and AES

FSU I was feeling you and I agree about the papers. Until my last class. I had to write a 100 page report as a business analysis about a company of my choosing.

So while you're hitting the same point i was (I only had 8 weeks to write it, the class wasn't 16 weeks, it was 8 lol) don't despair at least each one is a separate topic, And the professor only skims your papers I can assure you

so about page 5 start typing "Moo Cow likes watermelon" and he/she will never noticed
