are you sure? maybe you just didnt see the water splash a little? to make sure plug up one end with your hand and blow in the hose and see if you feel air from the area you say there is a leak

I SAID I TESTED IT.. sheesh.

its ok...i dunno. i have the wheat and the pull seems different than my KM...its not a bad pull...just different.

even though my pipe is airtight, when you're pulling...it seems like you have a giant leak somewhere...

hard to explain, but i wouldn't get another one unless the aesthetics and price were on point.

Did you check the pipe's airtightness? Usually putting your hand on one end, and sucking on the other works. Also plugging the hose port or valve port and sucking on those will tell the tale too.

dude its arcane! he knows wahts up.

and as for temsahs, i dont like non-plated brass hookahs (idk if i said that right essentially i dont like brass without the silver coating)
doesnt matter who he is replying too..even if its mush..hes giving friendly advice that he thinks can help a fellow member..shouldnt be criticized for it cause its a seasoned member hes giving advice too..

Yeah! So there! Thbbbbbt! tongue.gif

lol.. I didn't really know how seasoned Arcane was, so.. I was just sayin. No offense, Arcane. smile.gif

I woulda given the same advice to John or Mush or Eric even. That's how I am. Maybe anyone of them coulda forgotten to check the pipe's tightness, y'know?

Dont criticize for giving friendly advice

I'm just mad.. I'm tearing it apart to try mending it better.. the glue on the seals has failed miserably.

I think I'll use gorilla glue.. it'll mend anything together forever.

yea, my Narbish is not holding well either.
the end that connects to the stem seems to be bending and leaking.

Same here.. after taking the hose apart, it seems that the hose-port end is not waterproofed. There's no rubber wrap on it, so once the glue loosens, water will leak out there. So will air.

Hey, if you decide to repair yours, please try and post pics on a "How-to". I would greatly appreciate it as I will be needing to this soon myself.

I had the V1 bad glue (who knows how the new ones are). It leeks out of the handle and the stem..both in the long sections where the hose meets the tube.

Still works better then my narbishes..but comeon, I had to tape the shit up and re-super glue it, and when I purge I see small amounts of smoke leak through..

Anyway, hopefully V2 is better, but I'm going to order some leather hoses or KM's.

damn. I was thinking of getting a couple of narbishs to replace my frail sahara smoke hoses. After hearing this I'm not so sure :x

John's video was so convincing too tongue.gif

IDENTIFY THE NARBISH IN THIS VIDEO biggrin.gif

Well, if you ran water through your Narbish "as usual" I guess you've smoked it a few times? Has there ever been problems getting coulds of the "usual" size? If not, it might not be that big a deal, although I understand that you want to fix it. I've had several hoses with minor leaks that still works great.

Luckily for me, my Narbish has no leaks. (And I never wash it). Edited by Balthazar

Well, let's just say.. after fixing it, it works better, so.. *shrug* Though I don't think I can clean it with water anymore. It needs a trip to Lowes for some heavy duty parts.

Actually, let me rephrase that.. the hose is fine, and I don't want to try re-leathering it. The handles are okay too, but they need some heavy duty gromits to both hold the hose on, and to hold the clear plastic ends on. I also need some rubber tape to wrap them with so they don't leak, and some super heavy-duty glue. That crappy rubber glue they use is garbage.

Why are you done with washable hoses? In my opinion, most washable hoses are great. Only problem is they're not washable at all (read: by definition every hose is washable, of course. But washing them drastically shortens their life-span). Narbish, Nammor, Razan etc. All great hoses, and as long as you don't was them they'll last for a while. Edited by Balthazar

I've had problems with ALL of my washable hoses except one of my Razans and my Grand. Honestly, I think the Grands are the best-made washable hoses out there right now. Too bad I'm not otherwise a fan.

Honestly, though, I just go into buying a new hose these days with the understanding that I'll have to completely rebuild the connections within the first few weeks of ownership. I find superglue and electrical tape to be the bread and butter of hose repair. smile.gif

I believe hoses will continue to disappoint us. Using a "tight fit" to connect the hose to the handle can only last a period of time. The future of hoses is in the plumbers' section of your friendly hardware store. Quality materials and proven connections are readily available, and the final product is ready to be decorated at the end user's will. I recommend having a look at another topic here being quite popular these days (home made hoses). I tried it myself and I was pleasantly surprised. With time, my decorations will get better and I will never buy another poorly made hose ever again.

the future of hoses is good leather hoses.

ive had nammor, razan, narbish all fall apart. the grand was the best constructed but the most restrictive; i gave it away to a buddy who needed a hose.

the leather hoses dont disappoint me ever.

you guys can use the pvc pipes and all that, ill stay away.
