no longer welcome
hey guys, sorry as some from v1 had leaks and i am trying my best to test and not send out any bad ones, v2 came with mouthpieces glued in against my instructions but are strong as heck. v3 is on the way and if they f up with me this time i am not getting anymore. Sorry if you have had a defective one I will replace all just email me. Also, if anyone wants the defective ones since we know where the defects are and they can be fixed I will blow them out cheap. The matierials are great, the glue was crap on v1 one, They can be fixed if you are the diy type, let me know, and sorry for the problems.John
twoapplesplease
QUOTE (Scoop @ Oct 9 2009, 09:52 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>the future of hoses is good leather hoses. ive had nammor, razan, narbish all fall apart. the grand was the best constructed but the most restrictive; i gave it away to a buddy who needed a hose. the leather hoses dont disappoint me ever.you guys can use the pvc pipes and all that, ill stay away.Yes leather hoses rule supreme. You just need to have a few and use them for specific kinds of flavors. Purplepotatoe
How do you guys end up washing your hoses? I just spray the hose from the faucet down my Nammor and its still in great condition seemingly. I cant find any leaks or glue starting to go away. The hose from the faucet does clean it pretty well. If the V3s are any good, you can send me one to try out. This hose will most likely never be washable again. It's being held together by super glue, tape, and rubber tape. I think I did a pretty good job re-wrapping the rope around the handles.
Arcane
yeah, i'm a fan of the leather hoses now...i might pick some up later because they do ghost with certain nak flavors (can't seem to get nak peach out of my best hose )i used to be a fan of the washables...but, my laziness got to me and i find myself not washing them after use...oh well.... I just spray the hose from the faucet down my Nammor and its still in great condition seemingly. I cant find any leaks or glue starting to go away. The hose from the faucet does clean it pretty well. The best way to clean a hose IMO is as follows:Go to a hardware store and buy a small fountain pump and a bucket. This pump should come with a variety of adaptors.Find an adaptor that goes snugly either in or around one of your hose ends.Place enough water in your bucket to at least cover the pump when placed at the bottom of the bucket.Add a bit of vodka/bleach/vinegar/lemon juice/alcohol to your water.Loop your hose around so water will flow through the hose and back into the bucket.Plug in and let circulate for however long it takes to get the stank outThis is by far the most effective, hassle free method I have found for cleaning out a hose. It takes a little while, but your patience will be rewarded with a so fresh and so clean hose.
Universal Magnetic
i had first ordered two narbish hoses, one was leaking which casued the seal to break and it unraveled, john replaced it on my next order. one of my hoses (cant remember if it was one originally purchased or the replacement) leaks a bit too on the end that goes into my hose adapter, but i found if after washing it if i let it hang with that end at the top and my mouthpiece end at the bottom the rope doesnt get wet and it dries fine. NIGHTS OF BAGHDAD
i was thinking, if you guys know where the leaks are coming from, would it help to buy a new one and before even using it to open it up and use crazy glue to make it stronger? JDHarding
John, this hose is defective! You owe me a Temsah! lol.. Yeah I wish. For now, I need some PVC and compatible connectors and such and PVC glue to make better handles.
JDHarding
I sent an order in for one of John's fancy tri-metal windcovers and a small phunnel, one of the new ones, the green/blue/black one. I also asked that he send me a replacement hose. This way I pay for shipping for it. I don't want to take advantage of John too much. He's been good to me. It's his hose's fault for breaking. Chreees
Just emailed John about my Narbish... Hopefully I can just send it back and get my money back. I'm staying away from washable wide-gauge hoses from now on... My AF hose that came with the hookah works pretty well. At least it's airtight, lol. kdkhookah
Just to add someting else. I don't have a Narbish but when my Nammors started leaking, hot glue worked amazingly. Unfortunately a coal fell on one of them and caused a small hole, but hot glue patched it right up. I've used hot glue to patch and replace seals where the acrylic piece fits with only good results. Plus, there's no 8 hour set time with hot glue. The idea of using something as strong as gorilla glue scares me; same thing with any type of super glue. I don't think it'll give you cancer or anything, but I wouldn't want it on any part of the hose that air actually passes over.
foibled again
QUOTE (INCUBUSRATM @ Oct 9 2009, 09:25 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Okay... can anyone else confirm and clarify this a bit? Perhaps John himself? He already has when he announced them.http://www.hookahforum.com/?showtopic=26245&st=460Scroll to the bottom, it's post #479, the second to last post on page 24.For the record, not all the original Narbishes have glue issues, just like not all Razans and Nammors have/do. We hear about it a lot because whenever someone has a problem they post about it here but not everyone who has a solid Narbish does the same. There is a possibility that the glue may become an issue down the line which is one of the reasons John did get the manufacturer to switch to a better glue. He's also gone through his stock of original Narbishes and separated the ones he found weak joints in but he may not have gotten all of them, which is the case in your situation. Fortunately John stands behind everything he sells, especially his own products, so he does whatever he can to resolve these issues. Is there anything else you want clarified?
