Sahara Smoke Hookah!

Okay so, we can start this thread off by saying SOME of there hookah's are beautiful. And as all of you know there stem's have a build up problem. Okay now that that is out of the way we can get to the importance of this. As of right now this is my 2nd SSC stem, and they didnt send me a replacement ice chamber when sending me the 2nd stem. I wasnt very upset about that part i was just happy i got my stem. And due to SSC promising me that these new stems were going to fix the previous problems i had i was ecstatic to have the stem. 3-4 weeks later the same problems start occuring (white crusty balls, stripping of my entire stem) when it all started again i was disappointed in SS for promising me a better product and it ultimately being just as bad as the other stem.


Now 2 months later after the problems DO NO GO AWAY, i decide to call sahara smoke myself and kindly ask for a replacement because that is what i read on a thread jonathan the head of sahara smoke co. said to do if ANYONE had any problems with the stems. So i called...and after describing my problems with my stem the lady says..."im sorry sir but it will all go away the more you use it" ........


At that moment i laughed on the inside! i didnt want to blow up on this innocent lady that was innocent. obviously that wasn't the first time she had had to tell someone that.


So... the conclusion to this whole thing is why are you making such a bad product, and telling your customers that it is a great product, KNOWING the problems with your stems. And everyone at SSC knows that the problems aren't going to just go away like i was told.


So, dont you think it would be a nice thing to do to just tell the truth, and send your customers a replacement part that had nothing to do with them messing it up??? i know im not the first to have the problem and i know its not going to go away.


and if anyone at SSC wants to see pictures of the inside of my stem and the inside of my ice chamber just ask and ill be happy to show you how bad it is, and how it will not go away.


Oh and one last thing...why did your lady employee try to tell me that it doesnt change the smoking of my SS hookah when it does. it blocks off air flow, and I CAN TASTE IT! so please dont tell me it doesnt make a difference.

feels good to vent doesnt it?..lol heres the thing if he told the truth would you have bought the item? offcourse not hes in the business of making money not friends..now im not saying hes a bad guy i dont know him..but its something to thing about next time..another thing to remember is you get what you pay for..the lady told you it doesnt change cause maybe she just doesnt know..she may not even smoke hookahs shes just sitting in front of a computer and phone with a list of answers to tell you to get you to go away..lol and the reason i tell everyone to go with john from hookahjohn is cause of problems like this..there is no way he would allow something like this to happen for future orders go with the best man http://www.hookahjohn.com/main.sc;jsession...26.qscstrfrnt02 he stands next to everything he sells and does not sleep until your happy with your order..

I could be wrong but I've seen other members report similar problems and sometimes it is the result of hard water. So while IMO they don't have quality hookahs, may not be ALL their fault

I recently bought my Sahara Smoke from a smoke shop, havent had any problems with it. I clean out my stem all the time, and never have any problems, its the best hookah I've owned so far (basing it on chinese ripoffs I've had in the past) They seem to have a bad name around here, but it's never done me any wrong.

wow, thats really shitty. how about cleaning it with steel wool and oiling it to help prevent any further corrosion.

and HJ has amazing stuff but...his KM prices are outrageous.

I think Hookahsmoker must have stock in S/S to respond in such a one sided naive way. This S/S stem has a serious problem and it should not have to be cleaned out of fear of his life every time it's used. You know something, S/S should not have the people answering the phone giving out information on a problem that they don't know the correct answer to. What if it's something bad being created by a chemical reaction of the metal and the heat that's worse for you than just smoking alone. Do these people answering the phone have inside information that there are results from tests that this growth is harmless. It's all leaning towards an indication that there are so many calls they have been told to say that because management has decided to ignore the problem and hope it goes away or there are so many calls they can't handle the volume of calls pertaining to the problem and don't know how to handle them. I believe there is a problem regardless if it's serious or not but somehow S/S has to assure those with this issue that in fact it's been looked into and is nothing serious. I know if one of my pipes were doing this I would be alarmed and want to know why and what it was. We as members of this forum have the right to and can voice our opinion about a product that many of us are buying or thinking of buying and seeing how this is being handled. Without issuing real evidence that this is harmless and is nothing to worry about in lieu of having the receptionist say it will go away shows that they are not willing to take our needs as their customers seriously enough to show that they have our concerns at heart. I wouldn't buy a stem that when used has growths appear that interfere with your smoking and has a taste to it and I'm glad it was brought to my attention because I for one do care enough about my fellow hookah smoker to say you know before you buy this you should know what I am experiancing.SS should make good on this or possibly loose customers down the line. Maybe others feel the same way about this problem and want to know how this is being handled so far by the company and that it is in fact being or has been looked into for everybody's safety.
