tranoid no ki
Here is my current setup (smoking as we speak)2 hose Sahara Smoke (one end plugged)2 3kings QL on a med. tang phunnelNak Cola (Packed using mattarios' method)-I'm getting BEASTLY clouds, but I can't blow decent rings. I am certainly pulling enough in, and I have it down, but they don't seem to linger. I shut off my A/C and all air sources, but it doesn't seem to help. They just don't want to linger. Is there any relationship between heat/quality of rings, or type of tobacco/quality of rings? I seem to be hit or miss with them, and I just wanna get em right, I love watching them float around aimlessly
fineout
if you are getting enough smoke then rings arent a problem, you may be letting the rings out too fast and they are tearing apart due to going through the air too fast, try letting them out slower that may help
tranoid no ki
should probably add that my base is filled with ice water as well. but I think that might be the problem too, I have been pushing em out too fast tonight, I'm going to repack as I just kicked the bowl
ilikemyusername
slow it down and take it easy with them, nobody forces them out at high speed. Well, not big rings anyway.

the_cool
It is all down to technique, my hoops grow bigger and bigger until they hit something like the floor. The faster you throw the hoop, the less likely they are to linger so slow down (although fast hoops can linger, its not as goood as slower ones),No air blowing in does help, but other than that all you need is smoke.Whats your technique? frost91
ADD MILK TO THE BASE. IT WILL GIVE U THICKER CLOUDS. hahahah jk try not to let too much smoke out for one ring, a slight cough should do the trick. BTW. do not add the milk. it was a joke
redjako
My own ring problem is allowing smoke to leak out the side of my mouth, getting more whispy (though still full, just not as much as they could be) rings. Its just technique, if you get smoke its ALL techinque.I typically will get a huge run of rings after really focusing on it for 10 or some minutes straight. But thats not enjoyable -- WORKING AT HOOKAH???A buddy of mine all he does is huge stove-pipe rings..no leaking air out the sides. He doesn't know he does them though
ih303
I defintately see there being variables contributing to smoke-ring quality, but I don't know exactly what they are. Smoke seems to be much more than only thick or thin. I've had what I considered relatively thick smoke and couldn't blow rings for crap. I've also had relatively thin smoke and blew rings like a champ. I think it has to do with density more than just simply clound size. I know colder smoke is denser, but I'm not sure what else makes for ideal smoke-ring conditions.
