frost91
Since myas have auto seal ports and many people want auto seals and multi hose hookahs, wouldnt it be more efficient to get an auto seal hose? That way, no plugging is necessary and you can practically use it for any hookah out there!
RingsMaster
i think its a good idea, however i want to see how it would work, it has potential to be great and shit at the same time, lets see some sketches lol IM CURIOUS!!!

frost91
my thought is putting a plastic bb at the end of a hose port so when you pull, the bb gets pulled up, and when you arent pulling, the bb falls back down!
destructo
how would you clean that hose? you couldnt run water through it and blow it out the back end?
Hippo_Master
Wait, why? I don't see the point of this. You can't use it on anything but a Mya...

RingsMaster
the problem that also arises is how do you stop the ball from going from one tip to the other? what is going to stop it and how is it going to affect the draw

joytron
How can a ball be big enough not to fall through the end of the hose, but small enough to not effect the draw....It cant be both!

Karot
Couldn't you just blow the opposite way to get crap out? I'm seeing it acting exactly like a mya auto seal works, which doesn't really affect the draw. So I think it's a fantastic idea, hell you could probably do it on a hose you already have. frost91
1st of all, there could be a mesh covering the hose PORT where the smoke comes in from the hookah, the bb will be bigger, approx 1 cm in diameter, when pulling, there will be a rod that prevents the bb from going all the way up, and also, to clean it, you shoot water through the end of the hose, not the tip
destructo
i alway run water from the mouth side to the hookah end and never the other way
frost91
this hose would 1st, prevent crap from getting into the hose, would be washable so no crap would grow inside, and be useful for all those multi hosed, kms, mzs and so on. This makes all multi hookahs efficient, not only myas because of their auto seal ports. Also, it would be a plastic ball, making it even better than myas, because they wont get stuck
destructo
what about water getting sucked up? also you would still ahve to wash all the crap out through the mouth end which is gross

frost91
just to let people know, this is an idea, not a product i am making. But yea, great criticisms about the pull apart end tip.
indian_villager
Or you can go to the plumbing section of lowes, namely around the pvc fittings and pick up a check valve and adapt that to your system.

I also highly recommend switching out the springs in them because they make the draw very restrictive.

ih303
What about this? It's a bite valve off a camel back that I bet would work like a charm. And for only $4, definately worth a try. Edited October 13, 2009 by ih303
