Frozen Grapes And Nakhla Jasmine

Recommended Posts

On a whim I grabbed some frozen green grapes out of the freezer and added them to the water in my vase instead of throwing some ice cubes in the vase like I usually do. NICE! Cooled the water off ever so gently and added a nice sweetness to my Nakhla Jasmine.

Might start freezing a few other fruits just for this purpose.

I'm smoking some AF Vanilla with frozen strawberries(the kind you buy in a bag) and it is amazing. I couldn't taste the strawberries at first, but as they're thawing im getting a nice flavor that isn't overpowering the vanilla. Edited by Evilsquirrel

for the first 5 minutes or so I couldn't taste any strawberry. The best way to describe the flavor would be...........strawberry shortcake? you know, angelfood cake with strawberries and cool whip?

i really don't see how adding frozen grapes would help....unless they were peeled. the skin should keep a majority of the "grape juice" inside the grape...

not to mention, i don't really believe adding liquid to the base does much for flavor...although, there are some liquids that i think can have an effect...

I'm with Arcane on this one. Every time Ive put stuff in the base doesn't come through. With the exception of a very strong flavored drink. My 2copper anyway.

It depends on what stuff you use as a base. I know from experience that white wine and OJ have altered the flavor significantly. Though I don't like to waste booze or Vitamin C.

i used to put a Gatorade water mix in my base and it deff made a difference

Regular gatorade and water...hmm that may work. Maybe g2 or rain would work better because its watered down?

Once frozen, I doubt grape skins stay all that intact, which is why the flavor was probably able to leach out of them as they defrosted in the water.

It only added a hint of sweetness in addition to keeping the water cool. Worked for me, that's all I can really say about it.

sounds like a good idea, I'm gonna have to grab some tangerines and freeze them for tangiers orange soda

How would you fit a tangerine in your base?!
