My First Hookah Is On It's Way!

Recommended Posts

Got the email yesterday that my black Mya QT had been shipped, tracking number included.

Just thought I'd share the first-time hookah smoker's excitement. Pics to come, naturally.

Sigh. biggrin.gif

QT came in Friday, I received it today. Pretty nice, and excellent service. I'll snatch pics when I get the time, but for now, two questions.

1) What is the proper way to fit the hookah, hose, tray, and bowl back inside the carrying cage?

2) How in God's name do I get my hose to stay connected to my vase, and which end is which?

My thanks go out to John for great service! smile.gif

1) i believe once you have the hookah set up you can put the whole thing in the cage..but wait for someone else with more mya qt experience on that one..

2)there should be a rubber gromet that came with the qt stick that end on the hose and then stick the hose in the port..also the longer handle is the part you take hits from and the shorter handle goes in the port

Hehe, the QT is strange to fit back in that cage. What I've done with my friends QT before is just hold it by the base and put your fingertips through the cage just enough to let it drop in about an inch so you're holding it in the cage with your fingertips. Then just slowly lower your fingertips until it's resting at the bottom.

If all else fails you can take it apart and put your fingers in the base and just lower it in and sort of piece it together inside the cage. As far as the hose goes, no idea, I've never put a hose into the QT cage.

EDIT: Alternatively you can hold the QT upside-down and put the cage over top of it and then flip it back around tongue.gif Edited by jordanneff

1. good luck with that one..

2. which end is which? you probably have the all wooden one. the mouthpiece is the end that is longer and it should (if it's the all wooden one) have something like a metal ring on the inside of the mouthpiece (it looks like an eyelet or something). the hose end is shorter and much more conical. the grommets usually do a great job with the myas; if it continues to fall out, grab about a quarter of a full sheet of paper towel, fold it horizontally so that it's like 1" wide and 4" or so long. get it thoroughly damp (NOT soaking wet) wrap it around the hose-port end as many times necessary.
