Sorry, and thank you. I am getting my first box ever today of the "new and improved" Exotica coals, not gold.

Should I break each stick into 1/3 for a small phun. bowl? or Egyptian style bowl?

Should I use a knife to cut slits into the coal and then just break it?

Thank you.

they are now pre-scored. simple t break with your hands. on a small phunnel use one of the 1/3's it breaks into broken into smaller pieces.

Ok so it should break easy now, cool. "On a small phunnel use one of the 1/3's it breaks into"

Just use one? or 2 1/3 pieces ? Small phunnel lets say? or do you mean just one 1/3

I mean it break into thirds. Take one of those thirds and break it into smaller pieces and put those pieces on your small phunnel. Give it a little time to come up to temp, dont expect clouds on the first pull, but yoy'll get it going in a minute or three.

I got an old Box of Exoticas and the Goldens. Golden's are a little denser, i am guessing like the new batch of exoticas. They are the same, you are just paying for them being precut.

Mushie was always ashamed at my coals in my video's for using so much. I finally got around to busting up 1/2 of what I normally use into very small pieces (ala Mushie's news video which you see for 2 seconds), and I got better flavor then I have in months.

Chop em with some garden snips post-lit.
