ih303
Lol... I knew I was going to get shit for admitting I smoked some SB. But hey, I've got to be familiar with ALL of the products I sell. Not just the ones I like.
ih303
In fact, it actually is not a bad flavor aside from the fact that the flavor only lasted for about an hour. Typical of SB.I'm not going to lie, I think they do some flavors really well. For instance, I have not found a better pineapple flavor than SB. NIGHTS OF BAGHDAD
starbuzz isnt bad because you get no buzz, in my opinion its bad cause its way over priced..if it was around $10 which is the most im willing to pay for 250g of it, im sure i would have a different opinion on it.. Why would honey vs. molasses affect buzz level? It's true, the most I smoke SB on a regular basis is when we sell it and I start the bowl. Other than that, it's Tangiers, Nakhla, and AF FTW.If it's got nothing to do with freshness, which was my original thought, I wonder if it's that spice mixture. Has anyone else experienced this at all?Two out of 3 ain't bad.... Tangiers, Nakhla, and Romman. FTW.Red Dye FTL.to the OP.... Maybe yall were just dehydrated.Im with thr pro here! ilikemyusername
I think it has to do with all the artificial flavors, colors and preservatives. Lots of poisons have an effect on the mind.
Sonthert
Its possible its an alcohol based flavor or old stock from before they switched to washed stuff. I doubt the active principle Myricystin (If I remember correctly) would be present nor would I believe it to be volatile being in the oil fraction if it were. I would imagine it is not compliant with the FDA.

I doubt the active principle Myricystin (If I remember correctly) would be present nor would I believe it to be volatile being in the oil fraction if it were. I would imagine it is not compliant with the FDA.Starbuzz used to import tobacco from Jordan and it had nicotine in. I was suggesting that it was potentially a leftover from then. I also suggested that the flavor might use alcohol as a solvent, which might lead to a "buzz".The active constituent in nutmeg is actually Myristicin. I was saying that it is unlikely that they would include that chemical in the flavor as it is too dangerous and probably violates the rules the FDA has for flavorings. As somebody offered the idea the buzz could be from the nutmeg. After reading some more posts about Starbuzz, it seems they may be going back to a higher nicotine (or less washed) tobacco. So that might explain it, too. At your service, Eric
ih303
Hmm... that would be extremely interesting if that were the case, Eric.I understand this forum is loaded with SB haters, including me most of the time, but I felt what I felt. No doubt. And it wasn't just me but all my employees as well. So it had to be something other than simple dehydration.
Hippo_Master
I guess if you wanna call a myritsicin inhalation a "buzz", then all-righty then.. Over here, we call those migraines. Starbuzz most likely uses 0% natural flavorings, of course. It was probably the orange dye. Edited October 19, 2009 by Hippo_Master
jordanneff
If you're getting buzzed from Starbuzz then the last thing it'd be from is the actual tobacco. My guess is either some sort of funky ingredient in it didn't agree with you, or, you were puffing so much that you actually started to starve yourself of oxygen (it's happened to me before). demonix
If you are getting a heavy buzz off of SB, you're doing something wrong with the way you are smoking I think.Your coals probably weren't completely red me thinks. Unless you are smoking it like no other, you really shouldn't get a buzz. Please correct me if I am wrong
ih303
It takes a lot to get me buzzed (I own a lounge and smoke several hours a day). The reason I started this thread is because I was so surprised I got a buzz from something that shouldn't have given me a buzz. I'm pretty sure I can write off dehydration, over pulling, coals not being started, being a lightweight and all the other "usual suspect" buzz inducers. It's no big deal, I suppose. SB threads are generally more trouble than they're worth. For every post with legitimate info, there are ten knocking the brand. Trust me, I'm generally not a fan of SB, but we do serve it which means I do smoke it from time to time. I'll just contribute our experience to something in the air that day, i suppose. mushrat
Ok, not going to finish reading this all but here we go.If you think there is real nutmeg in this stuff, you are dreaming. I dont know if ANY tobacco uses natural flavouring, but i'm willing to bet SB isn't one of them.Secondly, lets keep the SB bashing to a minimum. If you don't like the stuff, fine, don't smoek it. But I'm getting tired of every time someone posts about SB there is a rash of useless, unhelpful, baiting posts about how crappy it is. So lets try this, you don't liek it say so simply and straighforewardly (is that even a fuckign word?) or even better, if you dont have something constructive to add to a thread, DON'T POST. Thank you and good day.
FamiliarJoe
QUOTE (ih303 @ Oct 14 2009, 06:39 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>So we got in SB Pumpkin Pie flavor yesterday and decided to load a bowl. To my utter dismay, all of us, including myself, got noticably buzzed off of it. We were trying to figure out why on earth we would get a buzz of SB, and the only thing we could think of was perhaps it had to do with the freshness of the shisha as this is a seasonal flavor and is still relatively fresh. I NEVER get buzzed off of SB! That's why this is so weird.Any thoughts?Nope, not thoughts. Just wanted to suggest the SB Pumpkin Pie with AF cinnamon.. redic!About to smoke one right now.
