delSol_si Posted October 14, 2009 Share Posted October 14, 2009 I wanted to make my 2000th post a good one, so here goes!KBB/BBKakes gave a me a challenge a couple weeks ago to rebuild his old busted Razan. He told me he would ship it to be for 10 bucks if I promised to rebuild it and show of the finished product. I decided to accept the challenge. I think it turned out pretty bad ass if I may say so myself. I am totally stoked to try this thing out. It seals just fine, no leaks, very durable. I can also switch handles easily if I so choose (as long as I make them with the right connector)...I forgot to add that in the video, but will for the next one. Thanks KBB!!! And, I hadn't had time that day to shower yet, I was just so excited about the hose. I was just going to do pics, but then decided with the quick connect/clicky thing, it would make more since in a vid. I'm going to make a smoking vid this weekend. I left the thread on there to it the tassel to it with just incase. I may just end up cutting it off though, not sure yet. I can always cut it later, but if I cut it, I can't put it back on. I wouldn't quite put it that way yet though....I have only been able to send out 3 of my hoses so far (yours will the the 4th and 5th this weekend), so once you get yours in, then you can make that decision, lol. Joytron said that my hoses are a bit stiff, which is understandable and something I haven't figured out how to battle yet. He also said they have about the same draw as his other Razan/Nammor or something like that, it was in chat and I can't remember exactly. So, apparently the draw isn't as big of a deal as I thought, but then again, I've never had a Razan or Nammor up until now. one other thing he mentioned is the hoses I make don't fit to well into smaller hookahs, he had to find a thinner gasket to fit it or something like that. I only have a 34" KM and 36" AF, so those were the only two hookahs i was able to test it on.so, I am really looking forward to sending you those two you requested to see if the functionality can live up to their aesthetics. delSol_si Posted October 16, 2009 Author Share Posted October 16, 2009 Also, if my homemade hoses don't work at too well, I'm thinking about offering to do this rebuild for certain people on the site (the well respected member who I trust) in place of it. I know my homemade ones have flaws...I think I would even be able to do this without having people send me their hoses....I'll have to check into it a bit more. I mean, after getting the handle made, putting the pieces together isn't rocket science. If you have half a brain and can tell the difference between hose and glue, it should be that hard. The tip is self explanatory, throw gasket in how, throw tip in gasket. The other part it is a little more difficult, but if you notice, the razan hose doesn't start until after the brass nipple thing, so I can made the handle and just send the connector piece and let you guys insert it and put the puffy things on, it takes some muscle and careful hands to not mess is tall up, but I'm sure the right people on here can handle it. Only main drawback I can think of is the price. The clicky/quickconnect thing alone cost 6-7 bucks. I think altogether, I spend like around 7-9 bucks on a 100% homemade hose and like 22-23 bucks on this one (including the 10 bucks I gave KBB). Overall, I think for the extra money this razan rebuild is worth it. I am also thinking this might work on other hoses too, but haven't tested it out yet as I don't own any others.dunno yet, guess i should see how this one smoked before anything else.
