First Go With Nakhla

Well I made my first ever video of me packing nakhla. I still didnt get enough smoke, but i was just using 2 cocos cut in half. So maybe ill try 3?

just by looking at the pic, i can tell you need more holes use tooth picks and poke all the way to the bottom

just saw the vid, your packing it right..i think you can use a few more holes..and use 3 whole coco's

mattrio? really? lol can we get it somewhat close at least? Muh-Tar is how you pronounce my last name. The way it is pronounced in the middle east is Muht-Tah. Muh-Tar-Reee-Oze like cheerios is my username, ive used it since grade school and it never left me, heh.

anywhoo, don't worry about it, It looks like you are packing too much in one spot. Try doing little by little. take a little bit, dump it in, a little more, a little more, lightly pressing down on the tobacco. When you do a massive amount like that at once, (like your first fork full there is too much in that one spot) it gets compressed too much causing bad airflow. Try doing little by little but filling it like 1/8 above the bowl, then press it down a bit with a fork. (if you find it can't handle the heat, it prob needs a lil more shisha/less coal. If it has thin clouds but more heat makes it harsh, it needs more shisha.)

Once you get down the PERFECT amount, then you can go ahead and stuff it with a massive fork, b/c then you will know how much you ACTUALLY need.

Heck you could even sprinkle, like half an inch above the bowl (guesstimate) then press it down a bit with a fork.

The key is a full pack with good airflow.

And my bowl i was using in the tutorials was a mini phunnel not a small and i used about 25-30g.

personally i think any tobacco can produce any size clouds. Ive gotten and seen tangiers smoke very nicely, I have seen the same clouds from Af, SB, Even nakhla. Granted some may be easier to get than others but, It's all in the technique.

ya but at some point you have realize its not all about the clouds..you should try to enjoy the taste and the relaxation of the hookah..if your constantly just trying to get tangier like clouds using other shishas then it turns into a science project

I agree, just stating that it may be easier with certain brands, but all shishas can produce fuck off clouds.

I have seen ridiculous clouds from almost every brand I have enjoyed buying in the years.

I would say too much tobacco and not enough heat again. In his tutorial the bowl is way smaller.


EDIT: you will know when it is perfect because the clouds should be as large as any other brand. Just dont expect the bowl to last super long. Edited October 17, 2009 by joytron
