bracque Posted October 20, 2009 Share Posted October 20, 2009 (edited) no offense to any egyptians out there, but i lived in egypt for 2 years, and this is how things work there. attention to detail is nothing like it is in the west. you get used to it when you live there, but most expats have a hard time adapting the first 6 months.we used to joke that if you went into a shop asking for a red round cushion, they would bring you a blue square one. when you said 'this is not what i want' the egyptian would say 'i thought you wanted a cushion?'i bought 2 hookahs from the market in cairo and i can't tell you how many hours and trips it took me to find good ones. at the time i knew nothing about KMs, so when i started coming to this forum about a month ago and saw everyone raving about egyptian hookahs, i was a little thrown back. you need to go past a lot of crap in egypt before you find the nice ones - i guess that's what john is here for.for the average egyptian, if it works then who cares about the rest. for most of us, a good smoke if most important but getting a nice looking pipe is a nice bonus.
