In fact, he hasn't logged in since 2008. That would make his post predate the NHT rule.Post ex facto!no one is above the hammer, active member or not we will find you. Sariél
Too bad, maybe a well thought out response like his would work better than a knee jerk ban. I've said it before, I'll say it again, you're just cutting off your nose to spite your face.OK, I'm done.
ilikemyusername
I still feel that since the post was made before the rule was implimented, active member or not he shouldn't be handed a vacation. After all, you can't break a rule thats not there. In court lets say ... 11/10/2009 someones being tried for wearing a tye die shirt on a bus on a sunday morning while talking with his mouth full of lima beans and his shoelaces are untied, wich he did october 18th 2009. after enough people complained about him a law was put into effect 10/27/2009. Should he be found guilty? I think not, no crime was committed. No law existed for such an offense therefore it could not have been broken.I CALL SHENANIGANS! delSol_si
QUOTE (mushrat @ Oct 17 2009, 09:51 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>QUOTE (king_lunchb0x @ Oct 17 2009, 01:01 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>well i think all this kinda has to with me, i was the one who posted in the several year old thread, all i did wus go to search and type art and filtered through the threads. sorry guysno problem, at least you used the search Engine. a rare skill these days. +1 I haven't even been here a full year yet and I get so tired of the new people on the boards making 5 new topics over something that has already been discussed in 10 previous threads. I don't mind them bringing up the old thread, but it just gets irritating when they make new threads.
delSol_si
QUOTE (mattarios2 @ Oct 17 2009, 10:48 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>hmm seeing as to how many links do come up when you search hookahforum with the nht word, mods should go through them and clean them out. In a thread you even see sonthy using evil words (obviously before the rules were in place) But if the point is to not associate "it" with hookah, but there are a shit ton of old threads with it in there that google picks up, whats the point?!MODS GO THROUGH OLD THREADS ASAP!obviously when you have time.I say mod of the months main job should be clearing up the old posts google detects with nht words in it before those rules were in place.I'd say no to this. Having been a guest mod, it would be boring as hell if my only job was to go through old threads and delete shit. Half the fun in being a mod is dealing with stuff that is going on NOW. Also, I think the main reason for having guest mods is for the mod to learn the forum better and know what the prema mods and admin have to go through on a daily basis. I learned a lot in my month and have a whole new respect for all of them. If I spent that entire time going through old threads, I wouldn't have gotten the experience out of it that I did. I probably would be saying "wow, that sucked."Here is my suggestion if it is necessary to clean up the old threads: reinstate a few previous guest mods to do the dirty job. Either that, or realized that nothing we do will ever work to break the connection of hookah and NHT and say hell with it all. Even if we are able to educated everyone on the difference, there are still going to be idiots that won't listen. Remember, morons aren't anywhere near the endangered species list.
