Trouble With Desi Murli

Recommended Posts

I tried smoking Desi today, but it wouldn't smoke. Anybody have a good Desi recipe so it'll smoke? I tried mixing strawberry glaze and glycerine into it, but that didn't work, and it was still pretty dry. Any other ideas?

The strawberry glaze is like a thick strawberry syrup, almost goop, and is for putting on strawberry shortcake or something. It seems to be good for putting in shisha. Makes things taste a little like strawberries. I don't think there's any preservatives in it either.

Don't know how well this works but seems to be a damn long, in depth tutorial on setting up Desi.

It's below the product info:

That's pretty extensive info.. I bought the Desi from them, but didn't see the tutorial.

This method actually works fairly well.. not so sure about the hole pattern, though. I didn't use a scalli mod for it either, but sprinkled the mixed shisha in and everything seems okay. Need to use the windcover to wake it up on occassion. 3 of John's coals seem to be enough.

I've always just added vegetable glycerin until it seemed about normal consistency. Never bothered with the honey personally, but always got decent results.
Don't expect any massive clouds, but be prepared for a scary buzz...

I typically use about 3/4 teaspoon of glycerin and 1/4 Teaspoon of Agave Nectar. For a small phunnels worth.

I just pack the bowl like i would, then dump it out into my little mixing bowl and the glycerin and agave, and mix till it's spread around evenly.

Then pack it lots of holes everywhere. 3 Cocos and eventually a windcover.
