water mixes?

i have heard, on occasion, that mixing certain beverages makes the smoke taste better. am i the only one who thinks it does nothing? ive tried quite a few things, but nothing. just curious to see if anyone has found a jackpot.

i like putting sliced orange in the vase (sliced small so they come back out.) gives it a nice citrusy flavor (imagine that). We sometimes put juice in the vase that will complement the flavor of the tobacco. I think it does help some but in all honesty my favorite is plain old ice water. or ice water with orange/lemon/lime slices.you are putting the beverages in the vase and not into you correct?

I like to put a little lemon juice in the base. I think it compliments most flavors nicely with out distorting the taste of the tobacco.

Ive used Ouzo in the base with Nakhla Double Apple, WOW if you like anise this is the greatest. I would imagine puttin any alcohol in the base would be good. I would think vodka in the base and orange m'assel should be good or hennessy in base and cola m'assel?? hhhmmmmm I should try these mixes this weekend with whatever is left after my uncle's engagement party

Yeah, I've heard that adding a shot of liquor to the water adds an "exotic" touch to the shisha. I have yet to try it but I know a local club/bar in town does offer shots to add to the hookah. heh. But what I have tried & do often is use ice water, a very cool smoke.

i dump kool aid in the vase and it gives stawberry and extra kick- plus i screw on my diffuser so more smoke is forced through the kool aid.

I'm not sure if it changes it a lot...its more like it just intensifies the flavor. I've used diet orange soda with orange shisha and, not surprisingly, I just get a stronger orange taste.

Ice is the way to go. Jack Daniels makes you feel all warm, and is probably not healthy.

i tried putting tequila once... it did not work at all the only thing was it had a warm smoke and a burning sensation in the back of your throat. lesson learned ice water is the way to go

wha wha whaaa?  Diffuser?!  Elaborate. What is a diffuser?  How can i get a diffuser?  did you make yours?

This weekend im going to go to the store and buy all sorts of beverages
that look like they'd compliment my shishas.  Cherry Coke w/
fumari black cherry.... hmmmm.

Oh man!  I just thought of this!  I bought some layalina
pomegranate shisha that i am going to try out this weekend, i am going
to use POM pomegranate juice in the base.

It was the blue berry pom, though, and maybe the regular stuff is

I guess the theory is that, instead of having one big hole and big
bubbles, you have multiple little holes and little bubbles.  Maybe
if the bubbles are smaller, then more smoke is coming into contact with
the water and gets cooled down more or something?  The popular
consensus seems to be that the smoke is smoother and cooler.  I
might actually go make a diffuser now, lol.

Now, please bear with me here, because I thought he was crazy too, but
my friend tried filling the base of a pumpkin mini with Coors (!) and
says when you smoke white grape al fakher through it it's insanely good.

I don't even like drinking coors, and in fact neither does he, if it
were anybody else I'd just say he's a dumbass, but coming from that
particular person, there may be something to it.

They also dumped a few shots of Southern Comfort in another and smoked
AF orange through it which was also quite good apparrently.

I wasn't there unfortunately so this is all secondhand info.

I have some laylina pomegrant the flavor wasn't the best kinda weak. Lukasa let me know how it works out with the pom juice. I would dillute it first. I do like pomegrant.

One of the oldest original mixes with the water that I have seen people do in Syria, UAE, Jordan, and Saudi are Ice cubes and few lemon pieces into the water.  I have seen some that have used orange.  I tried the milk one.  Too messy and milk make foam and bubbles very quickly, but smoke was alot thicker.

There's been a lot of discussion about this topic in the past. Just search for it. One of my first posts had to do with the subject being, "Beer+Water." It took months for people to look at my username without laughing.I still chuckle at my stupidity.

Yeah, the blueberry flavor does taste like anus.  The regular one
is better i've heard.  I went to the supermarket and a tiny bottle
of POM juice was 4.95!!!! i bought some fruit punches and other stuff
to mix instead.

Lukasa, give us a review on how it works out. I've personally only ever use about 1-2 capfulls of lemon juice to the water so as it just brings out the flavor of the shisha without altering the flavor.

The fruit punch didn't work very well at all.  I'm really going to
try your 1-2 capfuls of lemonjuice trick.  Does it add tartness?

I didn't think so, actually I thought it brought out the flavor a little more. Also I think it helps keep you glass base clean because of the citrus acid. Just remember to use just enough not to impede the flavor of the tobacco unless thats what your shooting for. Let me know how it works out for you.
