Know This Hookah?

Recommended Posts

So I'm new to this forum, and wondered if anybody could help me identify the type or brand of my hookah. I absolutly love it, but have never seen anything else like it. I found it this summer in a little shop in Las Vegas. The clerk couldn't really tell me anything about it.

Never seen one like that before... some kind of Chinese?

Either a gold Mya Gyro or a really good rip off.

Did it come with a hard carrying case?

It did come with a hard carrying case, but not like one of the fancy locking mya cases.

Mya hookahs will have a stamp on them that says 'Mya'. There will usually be one on the ash tray and somewhere on the stem near the hose ports. It might be possible the store you got it from swapped out the carrying case. It looks exactly like a Gyro though.

No stamps that I can find. But it does look identical to the gyros that have been posted. Thanks so much for the quick responses. I do have to wonder about why the vase was switched, but I think I would prefer to keep mine, rather than the one that was supposed to come with it. In any case, it is my second hookah, but definatly my favorite.

i would of guessed knock off, but it still looks good and if it smokes good thats all that matters

I've bought a Mya knock off before that looked great and smoked great until I washed it in warm water. The all the various parts that were glued together just freaking fell apart. The threads where the stem screws on to the heart were also shoddy and wore out within three unscrewings. Pipe thread tape at least fixed that part.

If it's cheap and you don't mind rebuilding with more quality parts, it can be a good deal, but otherwise I'd get the original.

That's a straight up counterfeit mya.

I am not so sure. I remember a year or 2 ago on Mya's Website that had the Gold Cloisonne Stems. Counterfeiting those isn't worth the money.

Oh I've seen these before. We brought them in the shop once thinking these guys were just distributing mya.. they are a total knock off. The stem is really cheap in comparison to real Mya's.. the metal will bend if you sneeze.. the hose port is actually welded in with a ball bearing.. and it comes in a big box like the kassirs. The base is paper thin. The hose is really heavy though... we thought they might be legit hoses.
