My friend who works at sprint (no SIM cards either) said that he confiscates reported stolen phones when someone tries to activate them. could take some time but eventually someone might try

I already talked to like, 3 people from verizon.
The one in the store said they just tell the person it's reported lost or stolen and say they can't activate it. They don't take it from them.
Then the person at customer service said that they also tell them that it's stolen or lost and give them the choice to give the phone back to the rightful owner.

I asked why they don't confiscate the phones and they never gave me an answer...

No matter what anybody says, I don't think anything that was said on here was racist. It's just what everyone's experienced from their own personal experiences. I'd like to thank everybody for their help and on different ideas.

Btw, I did check Craigslist. Nothing. I'll check again right now.

Pretty well, I don't see any racism in what you said, even if you said "black guy" there would have been no racism in my opinion. But, guess we all have different opinions. I personally think reverse racism is becoming abundant in today society.

I think its bullshit they wouldn't track your phone. Ya, a phone isn't that big of a deal, but if he is going to steal your phone, I'd bet money he is stealing more shit right now as we speak. Stealing 200 bucks worth of stuff and stealing 2000 bucks worth of stuff, its still stealing.

It really is BS and I agree with you, He most likely is stealing more shit right now because it's just so easy to get away with it.

And once again, I agree. Reverse racism is more prevalent then racism nowadays.

i think bottom line here is phuck all thieves, i dont care what color you are, where your from, a thieve is a thieve and none are better then the other..anyone of us here can get robbed at anytime by a white guy, a hispanic, a asian, a indian, anyone is a target for whoever is in need..if i get robbed you better believe im gona say this phuckin hispanic robbed me...does that mean im casting dispersions against all hispanics? no it doesnt im only pissed at the one that robbed me...ive even had people ask me to my face when they find out i was born in baghdad, iraq they say hey man whats wrong with your people over there always wanting to bomb and kill..i dont get mad because i know they are il-informed and i also know that in every race there are good people and bad people..so i just explain them to whats going on and they understand better in the differences we have over there..im not gona get all crazy or scream racisim and say hey what do you mean you people over there..i seriously hate it when people try to pull the race card and make them sound like the victim..another thing about the op...when you make any thread or even just talk on the phone or face to face to anyone about a event that happened to you..you try to be specific has possiable..to give the listener a better understanding..you mention where you were, what you were doing, who was with you, who was around you..and then you mention who did something to you..and you get very specific about that person..from if they had a beard, long hair, mustache, tattoos, height, weight, so why is it such a taboo thing to mention skin color? we need to get over that shit..

I personally don't feel I was being racist about anything that I said. I was just trying to be as descriptive as possible and even said "African American"
I think that if a white person were to have stolen my phone, i definitely would've mentioned the race too. I didn't do it to be racist. Just a fact.

Please don't use that term "white person"... Please use "European American" instead. Thanks
