Sonthert
Yeah, until somebody has 300 posts, they might be a little sketchy. I will say, I would imagine is Sariel is fine to trade with, even though he has only 675 posts. I trust him. Yeah, I think it would be good to limit trades to people with 300+ posts. liquidglass
Also it should be a requirement for first timers to send/pay in advance of the trusted member. It's often a suggestion but a requirement would be nice. That is until they get above the 300+ post. Once items/payment is received the trusted member can fill in their half of the bargain. antouwan
i'm also a member of a shaving (yes, shaving, as in removing hair from the face) forum and they restrict selling (not purchasing) to a certain post amount + days on the forum amount. it isn't ridiculous, but just enough to make sure that the member doing the selling is well enough established and not a complete stranger

4d1ct3d
Well I don't know about restricting trading to people above a certain number of posts. I've been here for a long time and I don't exactly have the many posts. I read the forum everyday though. Also, I've traded in the past with 2 guys that had less than 10 posts and it went very well. What people could do is arrenge who sends/pays first.

I've had trades that went smashingly and I've also had trades that went "well" but the people obviously had no spirit of generosity or at the very least a badly skewed visual estimation. All were who I deemed to be trustworthy to at least a minimal degree.Plopping more rules on trades will not dissuade people like this shmuck from having to try a tiny bit harder to scam, but it might dissuade people who really do have the best in mind. imo, of course. camelflage
its up to people to be conscious of who they buy from. thats why the trade section is labeled "trade at your own risk"
Woodsytheowl
I've done numerous trades and I really don't have that many posts for how long I've been a member. Honestly, the best way to enforce honest trading would be a system based on reputation. Whoever has more positive trade reviews should be given the trust of the trade. Basically, if you have a better reputation, the other member should pay/ship first. It doesn't really make sense why this policy wouldn't be in place to begin with. The only exception would be if neither member has feedback which would only mean that the trade shouldn't happen in the first place. I feel like we're being rather hard on this guy for losing money. Regardless of the precautions, I think people have a general faith in others to do the right thing. I know this is the real world, but give this guy a break. redjako
Have the potential seller (who is interested in doing multiple trades / sales) have the opportunity to send to a mod a 50 g of shisha, whilst also sending over enough money to cover the Mod shipping said 50 g bad to the seller. At least would cut down on the laziest of scammers. vin13
A minimum post count is silly. I've been here quite a long time and don't have even 200 posts. Just do your homework and research who your money is going to. There are plenty of tools and resources already in place to ensure you're not getting screwed if you take the time to use them. jordanneff
Yeah, I'm also against a minimum post count. I signed up for the forums a looooooong time ago and I've come and gone, posted here and there when I felt like it and I still have <500 posts. And even if someone is active for say 2 months and builds a large post count that won't really stop them from suddenly duping a few people out of a 100+ bucks. At your own risk is simply that. If you don't trust them then maybe ask them to put up an auction for something of comparable value on ebay (since ebay doesn't really like tobacco lol) that way if they decide to screw you out of something them you can still go after them or at least get your money back.
