barth
so about a month ago i bought my new hookah. till today the only tobacco i smoked was this light zaghloul stuff that was plain molasses tobacco. This tobacco never made me sick or cough or anything like that, i was always fine. Recently i decided to try a new flavor and got some nakhla strawberry stuff. It was INCREDIBLY sweet and the smallest puffs made me wanna cough like mad. Im assuming its because im not used to the new nakhla stuff because my old stuff was light. That and also, the sweetness made me wanna puke. Is it just something i have to get used to? i was wondering if i could mix these 2 tobaccos and maybe it might work out better? im asking first cuz im sorta worried that mixing 2 tobaccos might not be a good idea. NIGHTS OF BAGHDAD
i think its because you been smoking that zaghloul stuff nakhla makes..and yes you can mix the two we have a few members here that do that
Giant Ninja Robot
mixing is fine, you might be using too much heat. without more specific info on your setup and methods that's all I got for ya.And holy crap man, you smoke zag regularly? that stuff is inTENSE. barth
heh, like i said its LIGHT so it wasn't that bad for me. As for my setup i just used 2 coals, i dont use instant i use plain charcoal and just heat it for about 20 minutes before sticking it on. i mean i wouldn't really know how to get too indepth with my setup , usually filled the bowl but never stuffed it in there, i didnt pack it, i lightly stuck it in the bowl till filled. So you guys think it could be because of my setup or something?

Giant Ninja Robot
if you were using regular coals made for BBQ thats most likely the problem.
barth
it says 100% natural hardwood lump charcoal stuff but ya i guess its for bbqing, the instants are like 20$ for 6 at the place where i go and im trying to save some money. also, like, my hooka is one of those small 60$ ones and the smoke is decent but not as thick as other hookahs that i've seen, does the size affect the thickness/amount of smoke? It's sorta depressing im not getting too much smoke. its like medium sized, not that small either.

Giant Ninja Robot
lol. i tried to use that stuff, it works horribly, same brand.the problem my friend is that your charcoal is most likely putting out WAY too much heat and uneven heat at that.A few people have had luck using bulk BBQ coals like that and if you search the forum well there are some old topics about such, but most people, self included, get horrible results.good luck! barth
that is where you are wrong buddy, pieces are not 2 big at all. i take my sweet ass time to get those pieces nice round and small so i can get 2-3 pieces fitting snuggly right on top. as a result it takes me about an 1 hour to setup a hooka that should normally take 5 minutes heh. barth
glad i could make you laugh lol. but ya, to save some time i think i might as well try buying some of that stuff your recommending me. also you can laugh all you want but after that 1hr i take to fix em up those coals usually last me a good 3-4 hours. i heard instants and hookah specific coals wear out every hr or so. i dont know exactly tho, never used them myself.
