New To Hooka, Need Some Help

glad i could make you laugh lol. but ya, to save some time i think i might as well try buying some of that stuff your recommending me. also you can laugh all you want but after that 1hr i take to fix em up those coals usually last me a good 3-4 hours. i heard instants and hookah specific coals wear out every hr or so. i dont know exactly tho, never used them myself.

im sure they do last that long, but i dont think i would smoke hookah if set ups took 1 hour..lol depending on which coals you use they can last 30 minutes to 90 minutes..also depends if you use a wind cover..CH coals are really good they last about 45 minutes each..if your wanting longer heat times i have heard coconara's last a little over 60 minutes..they are also one of the best coals you can use and take 6-8 minutes to light where has ch coals take about 4-5 minutes..john has both brands of coals on his site..

im sorta used to taking the hr to setup my hookah so im never really in any rush. you guys prolly wanna just get straight to smoking tho i guess lol. are those coals like precut and stuff? and those are instants? like i can just use a lighter to light em up? oh also, i forgot to mention that i always put the hooka away when im done, thats a good chunk of time there. reason i dont just leave it out (you guys prolly do) is cuz i got a cat and he will most definately break it. yes the coals are precut
he has instants and natural coals the instants you can light within 2-3 seconds with just a lighter and the natruals you will need a coal burner and they take about 4-5 minutes..you can get a coil burner from cvs or walgreens for $10 they are 1000watts and many of us here use them..

the bottom line is do what works for you bro..if your happy with your smoking experience you get from the beginning to end then stick with it..is there a faster way to do what your doing? sure..but you have to do what works for you..

I dont rush...but it takes me 10 minutes tops to get everything ready. Bowl packed, liquid, coals, everything.

Coconaras and CH are precut. There are some of those that you have to cut yourselves (exoticas). There are also QL's (Quick lights) that you can use a bic lighter with, otherwise dont even try.

lol, well setting up the hooka itself takes about 10-15 min. the coals take 20-30 min to light. and i gotta find decent coals. Sometimes i find some small decent coals and just throw em on to light and total it takes like 30 min minimuim. otherwise when i gotta cuz em thats another like 20 min cuz the pieces are pretty damn big and hard to cut. why it takes you only 10 min is cuz you dont gotta do all that with the coals, but i checked out the site and the prices are really nice, better than the places here anyways. ill just get some coals there and hopefull it might from what you guys have been saying.

yup get some ch coals and maybe pick up a few 50g samplers of nak if you wana sample other flavors and let the good times roll

Yeah, hookah coals are esp nice because i dont smoke for 4-5 hours...only for about 2, 3 sometimes. Takes about 3 rounds of coals.

Haha. Yead dude you need to get some coals made for hookah. You'll notice a huuuuge difference. I tried using charcoal once out of desperation (I was out of coals and the local place was closed...and I was drunk); it was absolutely awful.

Listen to NoB and get yourself some coconut coals.






As an afterthought...how awesome would it be if someone came up with a ring-shaped hookah coal made specifically for funnel bowls? All you'd need is one of your designated bowl size, heat it up, and put it on the bowl . Edited October 20, 2009 by thevoiceofzeke

man ur one harcore balla using charcoal briquettes for a hookah. You came to the right place for any advice on hookah, ive been a member for only a few weeks and already learned how to get better smoke from my shotty hookah. Read as many tutorials as you can then pick up some better coals...happy smoking

natural lump coals should work fine. i've had pretty damn good results with mesquite wood especially. AND they're HELLA cheap to boot. the only reason i use coconaras is because i predominately smoke indoors and they ash MUCH less than natural wood coals.

i would recommend just using another tobacco. . .a lot of people aren't too fond of nakhla strawberry hahaha
