Long Lasting Hookah Sessions For Groups Of People

Recommended Posts

Lately Ive been having alot of people over and having smoking sessions for most of the night, but i keep having to change bowls and coals and all that bullshit. What products should i use in coals bowls hoses or anything so that the sessions will last a very long time with great tasting shisha?

Use a Tangiers phunnel. It'll give you longer sessions. Coals, use natural Coconaras that you light on the stove. They'll last you for an hour or so. You can easily light more once they are out and use the new coals on the same bowl. As for shisha, I'd suggest Nakhla. It's good and cheap, which you can never beat that.

I follow this tutorial for using a small Tangiers phunnel using Nakhla and Cocos:

EDIT: I also use this method for Tangiers shisha. Edited by INCUBUSRATM

id recommend a tangiers medium phunnel, or if your feeling like a really really really long session go with the large

The small will give you 2-3 hours easy. Ask anyone here on the forum. A lot of people that get medium phunnels end up regretting it because it wastes so much shisha.

he did say long as possible because him and his friends like to smoke for a while, my small can last 3 hours but if he does plan to smoke more id get the medium, just looking out for what he said

how long are we talking? 2 hours 5 hours

As long as possible, probably around 2 or 3 hours

This is why I suggested a small. But you're right, he kinda contradicts himself by first saying "As long as possible," and then says "around 2 or 3 hours."

As long as possible: Tangiers large phunnel

You can get a medium going for 6 or 7 hours with a good pack of Tangiers.

+1 on the large tangiers phunnel...works wonder...I rarely use it, but the sessions last longer than I have patients for

+1 Used mine once. When I get a day off from work where I just stay home, I pull that bad boy out.

I'd suggest Nakhla.

Beware of this advice. I don't think I'll ever buy Nakhla again...the buzz was just way too intense for me and the flavors were NOT up to par in my opinion (though I only tried Strawberry [which was okay] and Two Apples [which tasted like licorice]).

Until I try Tangiers, I'd say try to get your hands on some El Hennawy. Very little buzz; very big flavors.

Strawberry is very mild but good, a great mixer. 2 apples well, Don't know got some coming but it's a classic flavor a lot of people around here love.

If the buzz was to intense you need to smoke some more unwashed tobacco.

Like any brand, there are flavors you'll enjoy and flavors you'll not enjoy. I don't like double apple, peach, and a few other Nakhla flavors. Their mint, sweet melon and margarita are very good. It's about trial and error.

Depends on how long you wanna smoke one flavor as well. My friends and I tend to switch up on flavors for more variety during our sessions even if the bowl clearly still has full on flavor. For this reason alone I use a small phunnel. I have smoked 3+ hour sessions on a small solo with full flavor easily so I'd say a small with suffice depends on how many people you have smoking. For me its from 2-5.

I'd recommend washed for long sessions. IMO, a buzz is good but in small amounts. I don't think buzzing for several hours is enjoyable. Also, brand makes a huge difference. Real "Top Heavy" brands like SB, Fantasia, etc. have loads of flavor up front that drops off very quickly in a relatively short period of time. Other brands such as Tangiers and Al Fakher aren't as sweet at the get go, but last much, much longer.

Phunnels are the ish when it comes to long sessions. It prevents the baccy from drying out as fast.

However, and not to hijack op's thread, but I really can't get Noir Tangiers to smoke for much longer than a few hours. It's packed so tight that the top layer becomes a hard crust that smokes like burnt poop even though there's plenty of fresh baccy underneath. It pisses me off when I clean out a bowl that tastes cashed and 2/3 of it is fresh with a "cookie" of char on the top. This only seems to happen to me with noir.
