joek
of silver or brass compared to a thinner guage stainless? I would think a heavy stem would act as a heat sink? Joe
SanguineSolitude
stem doesnt really get hot that ive ever noticed. but a thick stem is more durable and indicates a potentially better quality hookah. if they skimp on the material for the stem, probably they skimped on everything else. brass stems are traditional and work best i think. mushrat
I have a heavy solid brass and a light stainless/aluminium and both seems to work about the same in terms of heat and smokability. In Cade of emergency, th smaller brass one definitly has more stopping power
Cornellius
Heavy stem is good if someone tries to take your nargile by force, just remove the stem and hit him on the head, real hard. =)

Smashraj84
Haha. You could go to jail for assault with a deadly hookah.
Sonthert
I like solid stems rather than the hydroformed steel because it is more rust resistant and "won't" break. I think they are higher quality.
