Wind Cover

Recommended Posts

A windcover has multiple uses, but in my experience it helps to add 1/2 an extra coal of faux heat onto the bowl, or makes your coals a little bit stronger. For instance, 2 of John's coals on a small phunnel bowl packed with Tangiers is okay, but when adding a windcover, it adds almost 1/2 a coal more heat, which in my opinion is the perfect amount of heat for Tang. But if you have something that wants a lot of heat, and 3 coals ain't enough, sticking a windcover on there will give more heat. It's sort of a heat focuser, and will focus the heat more in the bowl.

It's also protection for when smoking outside in the wind, or rain, or in the cold.. maybe even in the snow. I haven't tried snow, but that might be kinda fun. Place the base in snow for that nice chilly smoke. wink.gif

noob question: what exactly does a wind cover do? how effective is it?...

Traps the heat in... have to be careful though, because that can also mean increased chance to burn your shisha unless you take the increased heat into consideration and use less or cooler coals.

Also stops the wind from keeping the coals hot and glowing and torching your bowl outside. Inside, they can help adjust the levels of heat you have on the bowl and can make a session last longer.
