jayson
Is a resounding success! I lit up a bowl tonight using Mattarios' guide and it smoked like a champ. That's the good news. The bad news... I got the dropsies on my way to the outside trashcan with the bowl and dropped it. Unfortunately, the worst happened and the bowl snapped into about 8 pieces. Well... I guess I needed an excuse to pick up a pack of Nak Mizo Guava, anyway. Just wish I didn't have to drop another 15 bills.

ryno
So you packed the SB like nakhla? I haven't heard of packing SB tight in a phunnel. How long did the flavor last? And sorry to hear about your phunnel, seems alot of people are breaking them lately.

antouwan
i keep saying that esp with phunnels, you can just toss pretty much whatever tobacco in there pretty densely packed and it will smoke really well...hopefully people will start believing me... And sorry to hear about your phunnel, seems alot of people are breaking them lately.Flavor was ace throughout the bowl, and the clouds were not Tangiers-clouds, but for SB they were pretty damn good. The bowl lasted me about 75 minutes until I finally set the hose down... I was pretty tipsy from the brews and I didn't feel like trying to light up another coal batch. When I examined the tobacco after I broke the bowl, I imagine that you can pull 120+ minute sessions like you can with Nakhla and a small phunnel. There was quite a bit of unused tobacco left.I was pretty impressed, because I know for a fact with my Mya bowl, even Starbuzz is finnicky requiring the coals to be moved regularly so the smoke doesn't get harsh. I used about 30g for this bowl, and it was in there pretty thick. So two thumbs up for stuffing it in there tight, I guess.
jordanneff
Well at least you were on your way to the trash when you broke it But in all seriousness I am 'truley sorry for your lots'. Broke my phunnel just last week.

SB is a low heat tobacco, try using less coals and fluff packing in the phunnel and you'll enjoy it much more.

SB is a low heat tobacco, try using less coals and fluff packing in the phunnel and you'll enjoy it much more. That's what I was saying. I have historically smoked SB with a half of an exotica out of my fluffed Mya bowl. I never packed the stuff, just loosely dropped it in. I got nice clouds, not huge, and I got some good flavor, but not great. I noticed that with the exotica I had to move it every 20 minutes or so around the bowl or else the smoke would start stinging.I didn't have that problem with the higher heat and dense pack with the phunnel, so I was pretty stoked. I also had a menthol flavor come out in Blue Mist that I hadn't noticed before, and the clouds were thicker, at least from what I remember. In any case, I ordered up a new bowl and decided to get some Tangiers instead of Nak. Any advice on smoking Tangiers, this will be my first time? Thanks guys for the condolences, by the way. Arcane
wow...i'm surprised...i have one tin of SB...i want to see if i can pull out its full potential, so i'll definitely give these packing suggestions a shot someday...
Twisted
When I first got my hookah I bought a tin of starbuzz. I loaded it up into my phunnel and it had huge clouds. It tasted alright, and then 30 min later, when I was finished, I took the foil off and every thing was black.
