Does Smoking Hookah Give Anyone Else Really Strange Dreams?

anyone else have this happen or is it just me?

I can't really say for certain because my dreams (when I remember them) are always really, REALLY bizarre.

Although I do remember having a really crazy dream the night before last. It could've been from hookah, or it could've been the fact that I watched the toxic avenger right before I went to sleep.... too many variables tongue.gif

I have the exact opposite problem. When I don't smoke hookah, I have really fucked up dreams, all sorts of crazy shit happens in them. But when I do smoke, I either don't remember the dreams or they arent bad at all. Or it may not have anything to do with hookah, but I started smoking heavily like 3 weeks ago and for a month before that I was having really bad dreams, so I'm just thinking the hookah may have some part in it.

well i smoked for like 4 hours then went to bed under an hour after and had one of the weirdest dreams ever. i was sleeping but in my dream i was away but couldnt move and was watching myself and could feel my eyes twitch and heart beat and breath but i was watching myself sleep from my deskchair next to my bed then it morphed into all these weird shapes and colors. it was like 2 minutes long but really fucked up. vs the normal once in forever dream like oh hey its a house end of dream

It's well documented in medical studies that sleeping while your system has nicotine in it causes very lucid or bizarre dreams. This is most studied with nicotine patches.

makes sense since nicotine is a stimulant (i think)...sooo, yeah...kinda some same dealy if you drink coffee/soda before you sleep...

if you guys want crazy dreams take some melatonin (SP). its the hormone your brain produces when its nighttime and during sleep. its suppose to help you go to sleep if you have problems but it also gives you weird dreams.

True story. One day I had a dream about my medium flat rate usps box coming in the mail. Well in my dream it came and I was so excited! biggrin.gif I woke up and realized tis' just a silly dream. sad.gif But I again fell asleep and later that day got woke up to find the box sitting right beside me! biggrin.gif 2 kilos never felt so good to have. Nomnomnomnom

I know its strange but if you want to improve your dream recall, try a dream journal. For two years I could hardly EVER remember a single dream. My friend was into lucid dreaming so I figured I'd give it a shot. I only kept the journal for about a week (it's really hard to get motivated to write stuff down in the middle of the night) but ever since then, which was about 3 months ago, I remember dreams significantly more. It's really quite amazing how fast it worked, I have yet to achieve high levels of lucidity but apparently it can be pretty intense. It sounds all hippyish but it really does work.
On a side note, the anti-smoking aid chantrix is notorious for giving it's patients the most fucked up dreams ever.

Yeh, even just Wiki or 10 hour work week blog has some nice info on lucid dreaming.

I've only had a few of them, unintentionally.

I want to get to the point where I am dissecting my work, book, writing, business plan and other idea's which I don't have the time or energy during the day for anymore.

Sleep is worthless.
