Okayso I was up late last night and slept in today. YEAH DAY OFF!

As I get in my car with the fam to run some errands I see my Weed Killer Bottle in the Driveway. Then wait why is my garage door open.

STOLEN:
Electricians Bag full of networking tools Lots of Fluke Stuff.
17" Flat Panel Monitor I use for working on PCs
My Garmin out of Car
My Ipod and Radio Receiver out of my car
My parent's Garage Door Opener and a bunch of cell phone cables
10" Peavey Bass Amp

There's probably more just can't think straight.

Man I feel so freaking violated, I am just glad they didn't make the choice to come in. My .40 XDm is loaded and on my night stand. Would have had to replace the carpet too.

Sorry to hear about that Stuie. Did you report it to the cops? And do you have any of the serial numbers from any of the electronics? If so, they can usually track them down. Don't forget to check craigslist or ebay for stuff in your area, you'd be surprised at how fast it can turn up on there.

Don't feel bad dude, it happens to us all at some point or another. I was once on a trip in Arizona when I got a call from the local PD. Turns out our house was completely ransacked. The ironic part was that they found the perps: they were a gang of 8 year old kids. They took our booze, electronics, smashed the TV in and took a knife to my waterbed (yeeeahhh fun time cleaning THAT mess up). So it could always have been worse, but I totally hear you on the violated feeling.

At least I now get to quote one of my favorite movies, The Big Lebowski: "Eight-year olds, dude." laugh.gif

reported to the cops already.

Sad part is how I amke my money on the side is computer repair and home networking.... All my tools and monitor got stolen... so I need to make money on the side to replace what I lost, but don't have my tools... lovely catch 22.

Doing the math. My home insurance deductible is kinda high to keep monthly payments low, not quite to that mark yet. Maybe if i remember more stuff being stolen.

That sucks dude, I had someone break into my car last year, and steal my deck, Ipod hook up, cds, fly rod, and my fishing back pack. I added it up close to two grand. Kinda makes you want to install some booby traps huh?....Indiana Jones style.

0_0 Holly Crap... I'm really sorry to hear that ....well if your lucky you could go to pawnshops and find your stuff...
I know the whole pawnshop stuff works..when my family moved to southern New Mexico back in the day and our stuff was stolen... we went to the Flea Market and got 100% all our stuff back... so I wish you luck, and I will say it's good the guys didn't have the balls to go inside your place.. if they would have it could have ended with huge legal issues ...because pretty much anybody can sue if they go onto your property and do things that they deserved to be shot for....though that does remind me I should start closing my blinds when I leave my place .... I have valuables now worth stealing... ohmy.gif

BTW ... if it will help I could go to Radio shack and get some computer screwdrivers and send em to yah to help you out ...

Sorry to hear that man. I hate thieves. I had my car broken into before and a bunch of stuff stolen, I felt completely violated, so I know how you feel, well, I didn't lose $2200 worth, but I know the violated feeling.

I would suggest making stuff up to jack up the replacement cost. Just make up a bunch of stuff that was "stolen." Ya, its not ethical, but insurance companies are out there to fuck you over, so you gotta do the same to them. Thats my advice...then again, I don't know how the whole process works so...

ya....I'm studying to be an accountant too, so I am taking it and learning how to be a sneaky motherfucker wink.gif I'm taking Federal Income Tax right now and then also Advance Accounting, which deals with consolidating financial statements, merging companies, shifting gains and losses, buying and selling between parent companies and subsidiaries, variable interest entities, I'm learning all kinds of new ways to be sneaky smile.gif

Oh, and stuie, you might be able to get some tax benefits from this as well, depends on how high or low your AGI is.
