SafeSearch
Hey guys, just joined, looks like a sweet site, ill be sure to be active here as much as often. One reason I joined is I'm looking for some help. My friend just bought me a hookah as a birthday present but he bought some bootlegged one on Canal Street in NYC. It's most distinctively missing an ash tray which I really don't care about, but it's still a bit screwy as in its not like a conventional hookah. I was wondering if I could have some insight on how to use it considering that it doesnt have a charcoal screen. I'm posting some pictures of what it looks like. On top all there is is the bowl and a lid. I was thinking of inverting the cover and using it as a charcoal holder, but the only holes would then be at the top of the holder. Anyway, here are the pictures, I appreceate your help. Thanks alot! If you need more specific pictures, I'll be happy to take some more if u tell me what to take them of.-SafeSearchP.S. I Realize that some of the images are blurry/off-center because I was taking quick shots and I cropped the right sides of the pictures so that they would have less size. Plz dont be a photo critic
d_apathy
Looks like you just have no ashtray. Thats a pretty big bowl though lol. Are the stem and vase connected or can you take them apart?
kilgore trout
After you put your shisha in the bowl, just put foil over the top and poke some holes in it with a toothpick. Put the lit coal on the foil and smoke away.
SafeSearch
@d_apathy - yeah they come apart@kilgore - Should i put the cap back on or leave it off?
kilgore trout
I use the wind cover (cap), but some people don't. I find that it makes the coal last longer when I'm oustide, but sometimes it can make the smoke harsh by trapping too much heat. So, it doesn't really matter either way, just experiment with it and see which way works better for you. Good luck.
SafeSearch
sweet thanks alot guys. I normally just leech off my friends with hookah's I'm glad to finally have my own even though it is a bit sketchy. I've resolved I'll buy myself a nice one this summer with my summer paycheck. Neway thanks again!
kilgore trout
Until I got my new one two weeks ago, I had a hookah 10x sketchier than yours. It was from a market in Turkey and was the cheapest hookah I've ever seen, but it got the job done like a pro. Enjoy the sketchy hookahs, they have more character. Lugia
Looks like an inexpensive brass machine. I wouldn't smoke it...it's better more for just decoration. Unless you know what that brass alloy is...and in most cases, even if you DO know...brass hookahs are not made for smoking at all. There are toxicity problems with heating brass to temps that you would use for smoking, leaching of metals due to tar chemistry, and so on. Just put it on a shelf, keep it dusted and looking nice, and get a proper stainless one for smoking.
SafeSearch
this is all i got for now =/ . I'll take your advice after a test run this friday - none of my friends will let me borrow their hookahs and I want to celebrate my birthday. Definately Mid-June I'll have a nice one though

steve07
I don't think there would be enough heat generated for any harmful effects.
SafeSearch
Instead of starting a new topic I think I'll just post in this one again cuz I need some help again. I've been searching the net and I found HookahHookah. I've seen the name used here once or twice and I was just wondering if anyone has bought from their online store recently or if they can confirm its a legit store? I'm not too accustomed to buying it cuz I just freeload off of friends. Also, how is their shisha? Should I buy from them too, or just go to another dealer? I'm trying to decide which hookah to buy and how much money I need to save from my job over the following weeks. Thanks!
d_apathy
buy from social or hookahcompany discounts!
sheeshabum
The hookah looks like the same as made in India, but they are made for smoking grass or hashish normally, I would wonder if your hose is airtight (check), and save your $$ for a made for smoking shisha - hookah.
