LordInfamous
Has anyone seen a glass bowl for a hookah? I always thought it would be cool to have a glass bowl, plus it wouldn't get hot.
steve07
It still gets hot the one I had did'nt work very well so I never used it.
Lukasa
I think on socialsmoke a hand-blown pyrex bowl is a 20 dollar upgrade to any hookah. Personally, i dont really see the point. I dont really know how much material influences the smoke-quality. I always thought it was all about the shape.

DrunkenWizard
They work good. When I first started smoking hookah, those were all I used. I didn't even know about clay bowls until I found this forum.

zombiedepot
Definitely go with pyrex, other glass types will break due to heat. Pyrex is the same stuff they use for lab beakers. And I'm not sure about hookahs (my bowl is clay), but generally glass is the best for smoking pipe material. Tends to be smoother, and a lot easier to clean. You sacrafice some durability, but you don't want to be careless around coals anyway.
Sonthert
Of course, with hookah its a different world. I should add glaze on clay IS glass.
Guest Abide
love my pyrex bowl, its actually what i perfer for some tangiers and an abu hitam coal, but since those coals are scarce now ive moved back to the clay. The glass seems to heat up rather quickly and maintain temp easier when your coal is still good. Once that coal gets cold poof its done! The clay takes a bit longer but it keeps that heat going for when you need to go grab another coal off the stove
