Lilmopho
I have a 36" kahlil mamoon amuket that I purchased from hookah-shisha.com a cupple of days ago, as soon as I set it up I noticed the stem was a little wobbely but that didn't bother me since it was my first hookah and I didnt know what it was supposed to feel like but after being on these forums for a bit I found out how to check for air leeks which correct me if I'm wrong is done by filling the vase with water putting you hand over the top of the stem where the grommets goes and dragging through your hose and if you get bubbles that means you have an air leek well I did this and I did get bubbles althought they were exceptionaly tiny there were still bubbles. So I don't know how to react and also how is the stem supposed to feel with the vase is it supposed to feel vacuum seeled or is it supposed to be a little wobbely? OMG !!!:wallbash:
fineout
what do you mean by wobbly? like its moves around in the base? that could mean that the gasket might be a little too small for the base, i suggest wrapping it in some electrical tape a few times and test then keep going until its good. hope that helps! frost91
you have a leak in your main stem, if it was your gasket, there would be no bubbles coming out when you inhale, you would only be able to inhale a little bit of air while pulling if it is your gasket that isnt air tight

Zinite
Just to make sure you're doing it right, fill the vase with water an inch above the downstem. With no grommet on the top opening (where the bowl goes), place your hand tightly over it. Suck into the hose port. If you get bubbles, there's a leak in the main stem. Lilmopho
I swear to god.... It turns out I had untightened my purge valve when I first got it which is the reason of the bubbles beacuse now when I tightened my purge valve I got no bubbles so I guess it is air tight thankfully! But I'm still having the issue of my stem sitting lobsidely on my vase beacuse beacuse that rubber thing at the bottom of the stem is to small so any way to fix that except for wrapping it with electrical tape? JDHarding
For wobble, I usually wrap the stem's base with tape until the gasket and stem fits very snuggly in the base. This helps wobble. Wobble happens when the stem does not seal or seat properly in the base.Edit: Also, as far as getting a new grommit goes.. I've found that Mya's big silicone grommits (actual grommit, not that silicone sleeve thing) are best for KMs.. they fit so nice on those pipes, and pretty much any other pipe, and they seal amazingly well with all those "fins" on them. frost91
doesnt using tape eventually leave u with a guey mess after taking the stem in and out of the vase? i know i wash my hookah after every time and to me, that just sounds like a sticky glob id rather not deal with. paper towel ftw!!!!
