Ok I'm smoking starbuzz I'm using 2 cocanara coals and all lightly packed in the bowl that came with my kahlil mamoon I think it's standered ceramic

nara's are pretty hot coals and starbuzz from my experience doesnt like alot of heat, so next time try using just coal and break it in half and then light it..put half on 1 side of the bowl and the other half on the other side opposite to it..

Standard egyptian bowls will burn.. those little Mya bowls will deffinately burn.. phunnels don't burn, hence their popularity. But they do burn that top layer, but that can be picked off and more shisha added on top of the uncooked stuff on the bottom, also hence their popularity. smile.gif

get you some tea light candles and take the candle out and put the silver holder over your phunnel and load your shisha around it..thats what is called phunnel mod to conserve shisha..

my shishas always "burned" at the end of any session, its a sign I've done something right.

Sameee here...

These two posts have been confusing?

at the end of there sessions when they remove the foil the top layer of the shisha is burned, but not burned from burinng it but burnt from smoking it...theres a difference..

I agree with most others. At the end of a good session, all the shisha looks burned and is usually crispy and a goodly portion of it is frequently stuck to the foil, sometimes with a bit of moisture still at the bottom, but usually not. Unless it's tasting burned during a session, you're doing just great. I know a session is over when I can't taste the shisha anymore. I open up the bowl, and voila, it's full of burned looking shisha.

what if its just getting harsh at the end of your session? that always happens to me and i just assume that means the shisha is done.

Don't forget to cut little V shaped holes around the rim of the tealight candle sleeve.. otherwise it will block your attempts to pull.. sometimes the bottom needs to be bent outward to fit over the phunnel's center.

Mine is all burned halfway through after a session and the bottom layers is black nasty and dry....usually three coal rotations out of a bowl that came with my KH ....I use two Coco's made by AF and it's usually always better second rotation...of coals...though I pack tight ...then poke through the shisha to the holes...then foil it..and poke the foil holes...and I've no trouble.

usually happens when you have too much heat and you have a top layer of cooked shisha on top and the fresh part is on bottom..what you can do is remove the coals and foil and remove the top part of the shisha and load it back into the bowl and put the foil back on and add the coals again..
