VorFan
First off let me start of by saying hello to everyone. Im new to the community. I have been reading about neal on here and after reading a couple of accounts from him, im not surprised at all at what happened. Heres the story: I am a semi-vendor type person, more of an advertising agent. We do viral and guerrilla marketing campaigns here in st.louis and the surrounding areas. I also know 7-8 owners of hookah shops around the area, some of who have been friends with me for years now. They look to me to find what hot and whats selling. Im friends with Matt B, the creator and old owner of hookahgiveaway.com (by the way, if your wondering why that site also went down the shitter, its because neal bought it off Matt for 3 grand) and he mentioned this guy named neal as maybe being a potential client for me. So after attempting to get ahold of this guy for quite a while, i finally did. I pitched the idea to him, just like i do to all my otehr clients, and yes there are others, though i will not drop names, and immediately was called a "broke fuck" and was insulted repeatedly. I told him, look, its understandable that youd be weary of someone over the internet, youd be foolish not to be. So i suggested that id stay on the site, and maybe make some videos, do some reviews, with some shop owners around st.louis, and maybe after a while he would get to trust me a little bit more and then we could talk. And i then told him, if he is completely not interested that its fine, that i will stop trying to contact him, and thats the end of it. He repeatedly insulted me, claiming he was the largest hookah supplier in cali and vegas (dunno what that has to do with anything) and was in general just very unprofessional. If he was not interested, he should have just said no, not went into an arrogant insulting rant. Thanks!PS ive been a member of several hookah sites, and this one by far look like the best one. Look forward to being here.

VorFan
see, somethingi dont agree with is being completely against NHT pipes. The argument that there "illegal" pipes is based completely on the fact that some people use them to break the law, and you could use the same justification with hookahs, which could in turn be used to try and ban hookahs. The fact is that they are completely legal to buy and own, as long as you dont use it to take NHT from.I dunno, just my opinion.

VorFan
Ok, this will be the last thing i say about it, i just feel like it needs to be said for the sake of hookah smokers everywhere. If you use the justification that those pipes are used for illegal substances, and thats why they are "bad", your using the same justification that people can use for trying to ban hookahs, since unfortunately there are some people who use hookahs for things other than hookah tobacco. Now, i definately do not condone NHT use, but think about it, if theres a movement to ban NHT pipes under the justification that people use them to smoke illegal substances, and the hookah community supports that movement, what do you think is next? HOOKAHS!! Under the justification that some people use them in an illegal way. Then I, and alot of other people on here would be out of a job!(PS im sorry, i know its against the rules, but i feel very strongly about it and i fear that hookahs would be next, and i know NONE of us want that! Thats the last time that i will ever mention NHT pipes)

You said in an earlier post that we shouldn't be against NH devices because "some people use them for it" Then you try to parallel that logic to hookahs. My question is, what else do people use NH devices for? Certainly not decoration and certainly not shisha. While the hookah in it's conception was used to smoke then legal substances as they had to use anything that would burn well naturally it this day in age it is meant for and used 99.9% of the time for shisha. That is the modern hookahs' purpose. The modern NH device has it's own purpose which is illegal in the US. It's completely legal to own such a device unless of course it is used to break the law (which I would say with confidence 99.9% of the time they are) We have to examine intent with the product one buys. If the majority would intend to use something they buy for legal purposes, it's fine, but there will always be those who don't. Example: People buy cough medicine a lot, then kids started using it to get drunk. Now most places keep it behind the counter. BUT why is it still legal? Because people buy it for reasonable purposes normally. Just a thought.

If we go after NH (non-hookahs) then Hookahs WILL be next. Many people already lump hookahs with drug paraphanalia and it would be very easy for them to be swept up in the rush to condem ANYTHING that could be used for drugs. As stated abopve, Untill it has been used for NHT a pipe is a pipe. And in California, depending on who you are, even that's not illegal. Personally i see a swing started that I honestly believe will leave us in a situation where NHT is legal, and tobacco products will be illegal. Try seeing what many of you wrote if you switch the perception of which product is legal and which isn't.

I am not trying to argue with you, i jsut think it will be very hard for the govt to condemn ANYTHING that could be used for NHT. Pretty much anything can be used...hell, on 40 Year Old Virgin, they used an apple...and I know first hand this works well (again, in my phase a long time ago), so I think it would be very hard for them to say "this is illegal, but that is not."Plus, when I got the mini glass phunnel and mod in from Jay, the first thing my roommate said was "wow, a NHT device!" yet I explained it is clearly for shisha. ih303
I seriously doubt tobacco will ever be illegal (even though it should probably be Schedule I ). It's way to imbedded into American culture. Look what happened when they tried to put prohibition into effect. I'd like to say this country learns from SOME of its mistakes. VorFan
But see some of you miss the point. As was states, a pipe is a pipe, until someone MAKES it an illegal drug pipe. And my point is, that hookahs will undoubtedly be lumped in with the other pipes, simply because the fact that some people DO USE them for illegal substances. It wont be lumped in by anyone with any knowledge whatsoever of hookahs, but hey, how many lawmakers on capitol hill have a hookah sittin on there table at home?If we condemn ALL NHT pipes simply because some people use them for illegal substances, then the same argument will undoubtedly be made against hookahs in the future.NHT pipes are not sold as "drug pipes" and calling a pipe a drug pipe based soley on the fact that its aNHT pipe is wrong. There are plenty of legal smokes out there that you have to buy a pipe for.I have owned a NHT pipe exactly for that reason (i also smoked shisha out of it a few times!)I feel like if we support the banning of NHT pipes then were going to destroy our own community because were laying the pathway for all pipes that COULD be used for drugs to be banned.
