Well, since retiring my 24" Egyptian, and breaking my cheap 14" mini- Im left with only the big 2 hose stargate. I like the 'gate, but its a pain to clean, and have to put a plug in one side of it gets on my nerves. I use it as my "entertaining" hookah.Im split between a few. My main factor is cleanability- as this one is intended for my own personal use. However, I leave for college here in a few months, and I'd like to have another nice looking piece to compliment the Stargate. One hose preferably. No less than 22", and no more than 30".I really have my eye on the Bohemian MYA's. I love the elegance and simplicity of them. Also, the availibility of a hardshell case would be nice.Anyone have another suggestions?Price range: No more than $150

Well if you are willing to pay $150, then I would say go for the Mya because they are beautiful looking hookahs. As far as another suggestion, I would say a Social Smoke hookah.. I just got mine today (SS Aurora) and it's a good/simple looking hookah and smokes like a dream. It's a one hose, 34" and is goine for $72 (including three 50g boxes of Havana shisha & accesories). If this is too big, they do have smaller ones that I'm sure are just as good. It didn't come with a hardshell case but it did come with a convenient carrying bag that is constructed well. Cleaning hasn't been a hassle... but I've only had it for a day . But it don't seem like it should be too hard to do often. Good luck hunting.

Take my advice... If you have a hookah on a college campus, you will inevitably meet new people, and they will soon realize that you have a hookah and will want to smoke. I used to have a single hose Stargate and ended up selling it because I never used it. I was always smoking with friends. It's worth it to get a 2-4 hose rotator, because if you're smoking someone will always want to join you. I bought my 4 hose rotator from Hookah-Shisha about a year and a half ago, but since then I've replaced the hoses, grommets, tray, vase, and bowl. Hehe, the only thing that's still original is the stem and the base. I'm not endorsing HS, but at the same time, especially if you're going to be entertaining at all, it really is worth it.

Have you given Taqseem's Spider a look?  It's 3 hose, but has very nice wooden plugs for the other ports.  I smoke it as a single most of the time and it's great.  If that's not your style, I would definitely go with a Mya if you want something to show off.

That price is incredible, the hoses are great and they are one of the highest quality hydroformed Egyptians on the market. Solid and nice glass.I prefer Nour Syrians, although I haven't tried a MYA. Nour Syrians have never let me down...I have owned and sold well over 150 of them and I've only seen two shanks break...both by me and one was from flagrant abuse...twisting the shank by the hose port...HARD daily...after a year and a half, it gave up and died.

I'll second that choice of a hookah, I purchased one recently and haven't regretted it at all. Very very solid. The hose it comes with is really nice though so if you want to save even more money I guess you could even pass on the different hose. Although the tundora hoses look really nice and I'm considering one myself...

There's a slowdown right now, a number of major distributors have changed over to selling Chinese crapola from real Syrian stuff...things are being reorganized...I can;t get them from anywhere right now...give it a little time...I will keep everybody posted.
