BBKakes
I am steering clear of hookahset. Based on some reviews I've read, thier batting average on orders is way too low for me to use them.
no longer welcome
another vendor that comes up, adding 10-20% margin to think they can steal the entire marketshare, meanwhile pissing off everyone in the hookah industry. they will not last, not at these prices, it's been tried before, they have failed or are failing, and i've said it before about vendors that have sb at $14.99 think they are just going to cut the line and be successful. All the major players have SB at full retail price. aprrox $23 these days and they all sell more SB in 1 day than these $14.99 clowns will in 2 months. From a consumer POV it's great, take advantage while it lasts. I ordered from hookahset a few days ago and so far so good... they were very prompt in informing me of being short stock on Earl Gray, AF kiwi and pear... they broke up my order into two parts and are shippinng what they have then sending the rest in a few weeks... Hookah_510
I rather pay a bit more for customer service and a guaranteed product (refer to the thread with the suspected fake Nammor washable hose). The first thing I noticed on there site is the section on the left hand side: they spelled "Lounge" incorrectly and some words are capitalized while some are not. There are still plenty of sites that lowball tobacco (nakhla for $5?) and coals unnecessarily or just to burn the market. You still make a very valid point.ah yes, the coal thing. here is another point. ccn is sold retail by every online hookah vendor. some will be complaining about this directly to ccn if they haven't already. it's the same thing, but i'd like to discuss something that i could actually do to change things. what if i put my own competing product at $8.99 since I am almost the only one that carries them. The boys at TH and HC would understand, I would make it up to them, maybe buy back their stock. But the seriousness of this is that ccn would have to come down to my level to compete, yet no other vendor would want to carry that product if the list price is $8.99. This is the kind of problems that could arise. I will be thinking about this as I am also a retailer of ccn, and i respect and love their product(s). This is all part of ongoing strategies to maintain a profitable business. Again, for the consumer this is great. If hookahset wants to make $2 a box of ccn's that's great for you. It's very bad for the ccn company, it's actually dangerous, but as a consumer myself I would buy from them. As a retailer I will not carry ccn any longer if that is supposed to be the retail price yet I still pay what I do for it.Another similar coal company is 3K's. This was the most in demand charcoal at one time. It used to be profitable too, it moved volumes and had a healthy profit margin. I think they used to retail $16-17, and cost somewhere in the $6-7 range wholesale. Products like that keep retailers happy. Nowadays 3K's go for $12-13 and cost $9-10 wholesale....and don't sell as much anymore...think I'll pass on that one.I'm not sure how good 3k's are doing these days but I do know that everyone that used to wholesale them and get them by the pallet monthly no longer do. hmmmmm. There are two types of stores between Richmond VA (central va) and northern VA: the type that sells Nakhla for 15 dollars a box and the type that sells them for 5. I don't know how they're able to do this, but I suspect that the same thing that enables stores around here to sell them for 5 dollars allows the online retailers who are based relatively close to me to do the same... Let's put it this way, if my cost is $6.99 wholesale and CA tobacco tax is 45% then the cost of the tobacco itself is $3.85...if you don't pay taxes on them. Evading taxes does make your profit margins go up quite a bit. Now, I'm not saying hookahset does this as different states have different laws regarding tobacco taxes. Now supermarkets on the other hand have the lower prices because they are supermarkets, work on volume and really only mark up hookah tobacco 20%. All of this, again, doesn't matter to the consumer though, tobacco is just a commodity.
