Maybe its because I haven't smoked a new one, as the acrylic I have is probably about 5 years old, but still. I don't think the design has changed too much.. Because of the modular way its constructed, I cannot get a brush down the stem, as where the bowl adapter goes is frickin WAY too small, to get anything other than a pipe cleaner down. If I take off the down stem, I can get something up there, but really it doesn't matter, ad the inside of the stem is not smooth, and brushing doesn't do shit for it. Then you have the craptastick open heart design, that can't be cleaned out well either, and cause blow off to be completely ineffective. While I've hear they smoothed out the inside of the stems, I'm pretty sure they have the open chamber going for them. and the tiny ass opening on both side of the main stem, which make it hard to clean and restrict airflow like a mofo.Now, don't get me wrong, I like my little acrylic. It smoke OK, and is much better than most hookahs you'll find, but its definitely not the best. It might perform half as well as my Syrian does. That smokes like an absolute champ, and I really think I'd be hard pressed to find anything that smokes better.. If anyone is in NoVa and has a KM that would like to take the challenge, I'm really curious. Always wanted to know if there'd be a marked improvement. On top of this though, I will give Mya Saray props for looking pretty. I've been to their headquarters, and goddamn are they some hardcore lookers. But at the end of the day, I'm not smoking my hookah to sit back and admire how pretty it is. I want a great session. That's my priority, and given the experience of my own Mya, and seeing that even the more expensive ones share the same design flaws, I don't think $400+ on one of their bohemian crystal hookahs would be money well spent.
