I have never seen someone act as bad as kristen stewart did in that movie. How many times can a person actually blink in a matter of 1 hour? Ask Kristen Stewart, she knows. Her mouth was agape for more than 90% of the movie.

And those special effects, like the edward the vampire running around trees and shit and up hills - what were they thinking? No wonder they fired the director.

This next one will of course be a better movie, but it will suck fat cock as well. Have you seen the werewolves? Jesus F. Christ.

This is simply a movie for girls, but girls. If you have a girlfriend you are going to see it no matter what.

the fact that you know what went on in the movie meant you were watching it....and paying attention. haha...

Exactly, that's a good 14 hours of shit talking I can do on it AND have it be completely backed up.

*****************SPOILERS DON'T READ THIS IF YOU WANT SURPRISES!!!*****************************

opening myself up for the flame here, but I will go on record saying that yes, I've read the whole twilight saga, and yes I enjoyed Twilight. While the books are slightly geared for the younger crowd, they're really not. I mean, fuck. The last book where Bella gets transformed into a vampire, its too bad they'll have to edit that shit down for pg-13, as I'd love to see them have Edward rip apart Bella's stomach with his teeth, to get their unborn half breed child out, then inject her into the heart with a syringe of his blood.. Good shit there..

Now, you can knock it all you want, but until you've sat down, read the whole series, and really look beyond all the things everyone knitpicks and snickers about, its a very good modern twist on a stale ass genre. It really gets more into the deeper questions of what it would be like to be and invincible immortal being. Do you let the power go to your head? Or do you try and be good, and not let your temptations rule your existence. This is what makes it a powerful story line. Take the ethical part, mix it into what it'd be like for a teenage girl to fall in love with someone like this, and you get some real human experience out of it. You get real characters that are fucked up, and not all perfect and shiny. Shit, by the end of the 2nd and 3rd book, you don't like the main characters. They're all a bunch of fucking douches really, but that's the appeal isn't. Real poeple, put in extraordinary circumstances, that try and get through. That's why you read it. To get a gimplse into a fantasy, that to be honest has always appealed to a majority of us. What would it be like to live forever, and have powers like that? What would you pay for it? At what cost would you pay for it? Is it worthy your immortal soul?

The Twilight saga comes off very lightly on the surface, but really does get deep as the stories progress.

As far as the movies go, I don't think I've seen a more accurate book to movie transfer, as Twilight. It's pretty much dead on, and that's a good thing. They did a great job on picking the cast, the music score was very good, and they did good on making an artsy, relatively light hearted movie, that establishes the series. They needed to, as its all downhill from here.

The New Moon trailers worry me slightly, as maybe its the editing of the previews, but they may have changed a few things that go against the book. We'll see.. I'm not fond of the BS CGI wolves though. They look fake, as CGI always does. Fucking puppets and suits for life damnit!! I hope they don't cheese it up to much.

Oh, and they are not technically werewolves, so the same rules do not apply. they are something different, as will be explained later in the story.

So, F U ALL for judging me, I'll be there with the misses after the crowds die down. the 3rd and 4th book are were its at, so I'm not as physced to this one come to life, as the next two.

I read them all too. They were very poorly written. Good plot, nicely executed, shitty endings. Everyone has to notice how bad Stewart's acting is in the first movie. She is in Into the Wild for like 20 minutes and is Oscar worthy compared to her twilight role.

Wolves: I don't give a shit if they are the most magical fucking Indians in the universe, they look like retards.

Bold Line: Maybe you have never seen Fight Club, Watchmen (hey it's as close as possible), or No Country for Old Men.

Not then...... He was a pretty bad actor back then, and Lestat in the books is more passionately evil than Cruise was capable of portraying. On the other hand I think if they remade it with him in the role now...... Now he might well be able to capture the essence of the character. But Gary Oldman's Dracula is still the best portrayal in my book. He's incredibly sympathetic and yet insidiously diabolical.

I agree with you, Baranaby. My girlfriend convinced me to read the books last summer in my spare time and I ended up being pretty impressed compared to how I thought I'd feel. The second movie was pretty good; definitely stuck more true to the book than the first film did. I didn't like how in the first movie so much was changed from the book. I liked the style of the first film more, though. For me there was more corny-ness in New Moon. Like, the way they kiss before he leaves her- it was so intense you'd think it was their first kiss ever, and it just didn't flow right with me. New Moon to most will seem void of any plot or action, but fact is it establishes and introduces a lot of what is to come in Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. I'm not in absolute love with the movies or books, but I felt the books were pretty good and the films so far have captured the books in the best way possible. I wouldn't have rushed out to the midnight premeire if it hadn't been for my girlfriend, but I would've seen the film once the crazies chilled out and the theatre was less packed.

I wouldn't say they are poorly written, they're just not overly wordy. They get to the point, and she does it it a relatively simple fashion for, probably the first 2 books, then she starts to get alittle more grown up in her writing style. I thought the 4th book did a fantastic job describing the transformation, and what it would be like to experience the world as a vampire. Don't get me wrong, Stephanie Meyer is no Jane Austin or anything.. But she doesn't need to be.

I thought her acting was dead on to how her character is supposed to be in the book. Awkward, clumsy, slightly socially inept.. In other words, an insecure teenage girl, whose accident prone. She played her part well.

Do you mean the wolves looks lame, or the how they got buffed up for their human side? The wolves don't impress me from the previews, maybe the movies will make them look better. I'm not a fan of cgi, so they could be the best CG available, it will always look like shit to me.

I probably have fight club memorized, and I very much enjoyed Watchmen. Those are different movies, that serve a different purpose in their entertainment value to me. Not everything has to be an epic like Fight Club for me to appreciate, and enjoy. They say why go out for a cheeseburger, when you got steak @ home? Cuz sometimes a nasty fucking burger hits the spot better.

Sounds about where I am. The 2nd book is my least favorite, but its an establishment segment, more than anything else. Good to hear its still being true to the book. The corny-ness is to be expected I would think, given the new love interest being introduced. All new relationships hit the corny factor, and then some, so I'll forgive it.

I'll probably catch it when it all dies down, so we shall see.. Crazy though, that it broke the record for a midnight showing.. wonder if it'll break the opening weekend record.

my brother likes the movie tom cruise is in...but talks a lot of shit about about twilight. my sister in law and i both really like the saga...but while watching this movie about "real" vampires we noticed a whole lot of common things. it's interesting how people can like that movie but hate twilight. they are pretty much the same exact thing. perhaps it's the fact that it's popular and people don't like things that are popular. look i'm not crazy about the 14 year old girls with TEAM EDWARD shirts...better yet the 40 year old women with TEAM JACOB shirts...but the saga is pretty good.

I TOTALLY agree with this. Bold made me lol. I did read the books and though they were fast paced and immersive they were very poorly written compared to other young adult novels, say the Harry Potter series for example.

The endings really were horrible. Especially the brutal nigh-impossible to read ending to the series. Biggest anticlimax ever with the most forced everbody-wins-nobody-gets-an-unhappy-ending vibe.

Seriously, watch True Blood, which brings me to

BULLSHIT! NOW WE DISAGREE COMPLETELY!!!!
ANNA PAQUIN IS A STONE-FOX! And she has a marvelous body which I revel in seeing nude every time she gets all vampire groped. I've had a crush on her since I was about 8.

I love how most people arent into vampires until some teen boy takes his shirt off and now everyone's going crazy. Just shows that women really do control the earth.

Yep, that's how they pulled me in.

saw it today with drew my brother and his wife. it was just okay but after seeing that movie if edward was your "OMGZ HE'S SO HOTTT" favorite....and it didn't immediately change to jacob...you're either in denial or your girl senses don't work properly. although it does bug me to have impure thoughts about jailbait. that's not well played twilight movie makers...not well played. Another thing that really bothered me about New Moon compared to Twilight was the vamps' makeup... In New Moon, their faces are a lot more sullen and their eyes more vibrantly colored- they look more out of place. In the first one they blended in well with other people. Edward's eyes and sunken-in face even before he left Bella was just so different from how he looked in Twilight that it was too out of place for me. I understand he must look this way after he leaves Bella because he's in so much pain, but he shouldn't have looked this way before. In the first movie their skin might've been pale but they were still very vibrant and more normal looking. I just think they overdid it a bit.

Ummm....teenage vegetarian vampires in love?!...No thanks.

I'm a female, btw. (If that counts for something)

This is true too. I think that was one of the first things i noticed. the others till looked normal....but edward and rosile both looked rough. But i think maybe it was because in this book edward knew from the start that he couldn't keep putting bella in danger. and he was worried about victoria coming back for her. also rosile was becoming more and more upset because after being with the family of vampires for forever and then a human girl coming in made her remember that she never wanted that for herself. which takes it to the next book about how she always wanted a baby and blahblahblah but we'll play that game in june. so maybe that's why...but the eye thing i feel you're right about...you can pretty much see the fact that the eyes are so edited and the contact color is cheap. idk. but i did notice that too.

it doesn't lol. but everyone has a saga. twilight. harry potter. the lord of the rings. i mean everyone finds something. i personally am not a fan of lord of the rings. nor am i of harry potter. but when i started reading twilight it was an addiction. it caught my interest and as much as everyone hates the ending the only one i really really hate and the only one that didn't make me want to go straight to the next book was the last one...couldn't go to the next book because there wasn't one and it ended on such an unfinished note. but the books were geared for 14 year old girls...although i think there are parts that some people might not want their 14 year old to read...or think that because bella and edward were screwing that they could go screw guys and get this fairy tale ending kind of a relationship. it was a good series. but the writer has another book out called the host and when you start to read that over the twilight saga....i don't know what happened. cause the host is HORRIBLE.
