Best Hookah Lounge/cafe/bar In Dearborn?

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

My best bud and I are heading to Detroit for a Wings game and the Auto Show in mid-January. I read giant ninja robot's post on hookah shops in Dearborn, but I wasn't able to pick out where's the best lounge / cafe / bar to hang out for a couple hours. We'll probably be there late afternoon rather than evening, don't know for sure at this point.

We're not looking for a "restaurant" as such (got plenty of other eateries lined up), but hookah and tea (or alcoholic beverage, if it is a bar) is just what we're looking for. Preferably someplace on the quieter side (i.e., a little Arabic music in the background is okay, but not LOUD) and an adult crowd.

Any suggestions? I've been doing some searches online, there seem to be quite a few hookah places in Oakland County... would they be a better bet than Dearborn?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Cheers,
Al

Dude are you serious? You can't look at 1 spot without seeing a lounge/store/or resturant related to hookah. I don't go to Dearborn much but a nice lil bar I like going to is Sinbad, Purchase a meal (10 or 15 bucks at the most) get a free hookah with unlimited charcoal. I live in Novi and all the hookah bars down here are good like Bora Bora, Double Apple, Novi 6, Cafe de Moda, Havana. My favorites are Double Apple and Bora Bora. Cafe uses shit 360 tobacco, Bora uses fantasia, novi 6 and double apple uses starbuzz, havana uses havana. Only problem is every one of those lounges have kids up the ass because none of them can survive without letting kids in.

Hey giant ninja robot and Brandon,

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I know there are tons of places, really just looking for recommendations on the "best of the best" since we won't have time to check out several places, unfortunately. I know the area well, just not the hookah scene per se.

Will check out the detailed reviews of the places you recommended in Novi. As for the teen hangout part, well, I guess it comes with the territory...

Still looking for advice / discussion from others who care to offer their opinions.

Cheers,
Al

Double Apple
- Lots of kids
- Mya Acrylic Hookahs

-15.95 for a hookah
- 3 Charcoals with hookah purchase
- Full food served, from middle eastern salads to chicken fingers and fries
- Drinks served, water is $1, Pops/Vitamin water and ect are $2, all other drinks are $4
- Overall a 7.5/10 only because the kids and shitbuzz.

Novi 6 Livonia

- Starbuzz
- Lots of teens 16-20
- 2 Charcoal (Have to pay for more)
- No food
- Drinks prices as Double Apple
- Havana Hookahs

Hookahs are 14 bucks (They charge by the people smoking) and on some nights they have deals, usually Friday's.
Overall 6.5/10

Cafe De Moda
- Old as hell
- Owner is currently sick so he's closed down for the past 2 weeks
- Uses 360 Tobacco

Overall 3/10, this place sucks.
