i think a hookah in car belongs there as much as a tv in a car..people are distracted enough has it is with there cell phones, tuning into radio stations, and putting on make up..you make 1 turn coals go flying and your trying to keep your balls from being cooked and god knows who or what you hit..its really not that serious..lol i find it funny how people cant wait to get somewhere to smoke..a hookah is supposed to be something you kick back and enjoy..not something you put your life and other peoples life at risk cause you need your "fix"

It's really how you look at it, and why you're smoking while you're driving. If i had a long trip ahead of me I would definitely consider having a hookah going during the ride. But I agree, you need to be smart about it by making sure coals wont fly around and have a designated coal rotator. I thinks its all in the name of fun. And who said you can't kick back and enjoy a smoke during a drive?

if you must, invest in some tasty cigars..much safer..but also if you must smoke a hookah, pull over to a restaurant and grab something to eat and then set your hookah up on your truck or something and relax for an hour..for those long cross country trips that is..

The Leila is designed for smoking in a car. It fits in a cup holder and has a screw on lid to keep coals in. I would never smoking in a car with anything but a lelia and at least 1 other person to help with the hookah.

Periodically we go through this discussion. The "younguns" here think it's okay. Those of us who consider ourselves adult enough to hold ourselves responsible for the safety of others on the road with us consider it just plain stupid. We fight enough battles for the legitmacy of our pastime. And idiots want to drag it out onto the roadway? The first, very first, accident anywhere in this country on the road with a hookah in the car is going to do major public relations damage not to mention probably instigating another round of "let's outlaw all the fun stuff". Way to go stupid. And here's your sign.

I love my leila, honestly will smoke it in my car, or in my room when i don't wanna risk dropping coals in the carpet in my room. So far no problems that NoB keeps mentioning, seems to be a great little pipe for its purpose.

Not a daily smoker but it gets used once a week around here.

gotta agree with you there 100%, if a car accident does happen and god forbid someone gets killed and they find out the driver was distracted with a hookah its all over..thats the nail in the coffin..and dont think it wont cause look what they did with cell phones..its illegal to be on your cell phone in illinois and if your caught its no if's, and's, or buts..its a $150 ticket i believe

read the bolded parts, sportsfan was talking about his leila and either you didnt read his posts or something but he said that it was a great pipe for the purpose and he hasnt had any problems with the coals, Then he added that it was a good pipe for every once in a while. Then you said that he will think differently when he uses it more. The proof is the the posts as they say

First problem with this...... why would i use it daily when i have a Pharonie, AF solid medium, and QT.......

As for the OP getting a leila, they have a bambino, so they also would not need to be smoking this as a daily smoke

There is clearly no reason to use this every day..... and if you used it every day, for every session you had, the only issue i can see it having is the hose rusting because if the water isn't PERFECT then you tend to get a little water in the hose, but we all know what 10 bucks and a trip to home depot can do for a hose.

I'm not saying that there aren't horror stories out there..... simply saying that for the use its designed for, (car smoking on occasion) it does a PHENOMENAL job and that I personally have had no issue with it what so ever.

and to add to what the OP was asking,

if your looking for the pipe with the smallest cleanup time, for an occasional smoke, i don't see anything wrong with a leila.

And please note NoB, I don't take any offense to what you said, i simple think that you did a poor job of reading my post. I bolded some of the parts you should review.

That's not the point.... you keep stating that if you use it daily it will this and that...... i VERY CLEARLY state in my OP that it is NOT a daily smoker. so the argument "if" you use it daily, well i don't, my advice to the OP was to not, so it seems your arguing a point that doesn't exist in the context of the conversation.

If all of my other hookahs "crapped out", i would order another QT or a bambino or some other small mya for my daily.......

That's not what the OP was asking for, he was asking for an occasional use hookah. Edited by sportsfan6216
