SanguineSolitude
buuuut lakemonsters idea looks great and customizes a hookah with something you can be proud of having made yourself. thats a great idea lake. I probably will try to do that when my cobra dies.
Macho555
Yeah, making my own hose sounds like an awesome idea...I'm actually looking for a new hose too, so maybe I'll just go that route and make the perfect hose for myself.
Sonthert
Come on, he's trying to sell stuff...if you make your own, that one less sale. I know how he feels...I don;t want you people making your own tobacco!
EliteHookah.com
Haha. Bingo. But come on, if I was going to build my own hose it would be on a to-do list for the next 3 years
Macho555
I just finished putting together my hose, It works wonderful. The hotglue pretty much caulks the ends so it can be used. I already had a purple flame hose cover, so I just put that over it. I love it, it pretty much cost 2 bucks for the ten feet of hose. EliteHookah.com
Do you get the same kind of flexibility with the hardware store tubing as you do from a standard leather hose? I mean as far as being able to bend and twist the hose.
Lakemonster
It is more rigid material... I am bout to find my old pipe threading dies and run the tubing thru that... hopefully cutting in the threads will give it more flexibility.... If it works. Im gonna try to find (fabricate something) a way to chuck up the tap in my lathe. Make threaded lengths of it in around 45 seconds. If all goes nicely. I could see myslef selling hoses AND cleaning kits to go with them.... actually SCRUB the inside of the hose.
SanguineSolitude
please keep us posted lakemonster. more pics would be nice. especially action pics of how the progress goes. i would like to fab a hose someday. make it really personal you know. that website pimpyourhookah sells mouthpieces to hoses without the hose attached. and hoses without the mouthpiece. i think thats a neat idea but it would be even cooler if you could make the hose yourself. for that matter put that lathe to use making mouthpieces . Macho555
The hose I made is pretty flexible. Maybe just a TAD less flexible then the leather hoses. The hose I used isn't what Lakemonster posted though, Its perfectly clear, without the thread through the hose. It's actually pretty interesting to watch the smoke through the hose to your mouth Sanguine Solitude: I had the exact same idea about the mouthpieces when I saw his site. I think I may order the solid metal mouthpiece, and redissect my hose. Full customization baby! I just wish I could find a guy selling the other end of the hose....
