I was impressed. If you've ever had a great batch of AF Grape, but were scared to buy it now because of AF's inconsistency...then I'd suggest picking up Royal Grape as a substitute.. It's pretty much what I remember AF Grape to be...and the flavor strength was stronger than what I was used to SB being.Definitely may make a spot in my lineup every now and then (the price still makes me cringe)...but, I would easily pick up Royal Grape over AF Grape any day. Now, if I could only bring myself to take a risk on AF Mint...I may be reliving my glory days of Grape/Mint mixes...I mean, its really THAT good...hell, I'm making its own thread about it...also, I wanted to thank FSU for hyping it up so much....it didn't disappoint...now, what do you suggest as a replacement for AF Mint? Haha....on a sidenote: i got a package containing a Tangiers Large Phunnel from HJ yesterday, opened it up, packed a bowl of SB Royal Grape...and somehow it managed to fall off my hookah...and break. i can say i was an owner of a Tangiers Large Phunnel for less than 30 minutes.....blaaaaaahhh... I've had a few of the SB flavors (Blue Mist, ) because my younger friends get sucked in by the name and buy it. The stuff was so artificial tasting and seemed to have weak clouds although I wasn't in charge of heat or packing. So I've been turned off to SB. But I really want a good grape so maybe I'll include a 50g in the order I'm laying out right now. If it even comes in the 50g size.But like you said... the SB price makes me cringe. Arcane Posted November 22, 2009 Author Share Posted November 22, 2009 well, if you think about it this way....let's say, you order a kilo(4x250g) of SB Royal Grape...and a kilo of AF Grape...now, from what i understand...SB is pretty consistent....so, you get 1Kg of tobacco for ~$88....now, let's say...half of your AF kilo is crap...leaving you with 500g, yet you still paid for 1Kg...so you get 500g of smokeable tobacco at $56...yikes! and what happens if you get 3 shitty boxes? that's a pretty darn expensive 250g box... mushrat Posted November 22, 2009 Share Posted November 22, 2009 sb has a number of good flavours.The white peach is great. I sell a lot of the blue and citrus mist. Irish cream is damn tasty as well. I have found that in my experience, the original core flavours tend the be better overall than soem of the newer, weirder mixes and flavours. I guess simple single flavours are easier to get right or something. Could also be trying to expand the flavour list too quickly and not always getting them as good as they could be. For some reason I'm not a fan of their White Peach. Just doesn't taste like peaches to me. The cost makes everyone cringe but the one thing about Starbuzz is that it's very, VERY consistent. You will always get exactly the same flavor. Hate the dye though. That's a great price. they just raised their price to like 17 and change so I guess thats what i'll be paying. So anyway 60 a kilo wasnt bad for the past year plus that I have been smoking.
