Give it a try sometime; you'd be surprised.actually, i have...a few months ago, i used to rotate the coals every 15 minutes or so...after tweaking my technique with packing, i don't have to move the coals unless its to make room for a new coal...my flavor stays strong until the coals begin to shrink...no flipping, no rotating, no nothing...try and tweak your packing...maybe you'll be able to forget about "coal maintenance" too!note: i smoke Tangiers and Nakhla, almost with those brands either...Oh I'm to that point, man! Sometimes I don't pack such a heavy bowl, so I need to be experienced in coal moving:)
Arcane
nice...i try to achieve the epitome of laziness when it comes to hookah...- i bought canaries, so i wouldn't have to get up to light new coals- i altered my packing so i wouldn't have to move my coals- i purposely freeze one can of (random energy drink), so by the time i'm done with the first can...then frozen one is halfway thawedthe only times i really get up, is to use the bathroom or smoke a cigarette... Barnaby
I use cocos, and when they are first getting going, I will blow on them on my first rotate, to get them red hot again. If I just leave them there, the tops do not necessarily stay red at first, and need alittle help. The wind cover helps with this, but it's really a matter of circumstance if I need to blow on them to make sure they're burning well again. AFter, say 15 minutes, the need to blow on them is gone, and I can just drop them in the tray and be on my merry way. I like to make sure my coals are nice and red when they are face down, to help with them going at on the bottom, as cocos tend to do.
