rj_skillz
As you guys know, Ive been waiting anxiously for this hookah and has finally come through the post. The KM hookah which I got for £44 discounted from £80. I didnt have a chance to check it out properly when I received it yesterday because I had a major assignment which was due in today. As soon as I got home, I checked it out in detail..and my grommet is torn! Im really cheesed off because I dont have another grommet that fits around the stem properly. Also, the ash tray was full of dust! Im sure it hasnt been used but when you buy something, you expect it to be spanking new!I feel like complaning to hookahshisha.co.uk! Would you? rj_skillz
I just smoked the hookah with the normal pipe which was given. Al faker watermelon and quicklight CH coals. It was great for the first 25minutes but now after the 2 coals on it running out, its tasting disgusting!!I cant wait to receive my phunnel bowl and coco-naras..hopefully it would change the whole scene! Giant Ninja Robot
gaskets are cheap as hell. that being said you deserve what you ordered and i would email to see if they'll send you a new one, but it's really got nothing to do with the actual hookah pipe. rj_skillz
Yeah I know it hasnt got anything to do with the hookah but because of the grommet/gasket, the stem does not seem to fit straight! I have just emailed them and I guess I have to see what they say.I just cleaned the hookah and left it alone! Im just gonna wait for the phunnel bowl and coco-naras because I would imagine that It would make a massive difference in terms of the shisha longing laster without it giving me a nasty taste after only 20 minutes! NIGHTS OF BAGHDAD
until you get a new gasket you can wrap it up with tape..like electrical tape around where the gromet would go..also if did you ash your coals? maybe thats why it started tasting bad..any coals i use i ash every 15 minutes and i like to rotate them
Jacob Shock
use the paper towel trick to substitute for a grommet.
Chreees
QUOTE (Jacob Shock @ Nov 25 2009, 09:23 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>use the paper towel trick to substitute for a grommet. This was what I was going to suggest. Ha, Jacob Shock, I think I actually told you to do this for your Bambino/Grand hose. Anyway, take a strip of paper towel, wet it, then wring it out and wrap it around the stem where the bowl grommet would go. Creates a nice, airtight seal. I use the wet paper towel method all the time, because my Tangiers small phunnel's opening is too large for the stem with the Mya silicone grommet. I have to wrap paper towel around the grommet then stick my bowl on. I also use paper towel for my hose port. Creates a better seal. Hope this helps you with your grommet problem. rj_skillz
I ashed my coals every 10mins but the quicklights seemed to run out very quickly! It smoked great, honestly..for about 25 minutes maximum. The flavour burned out so quick!I used the paper towel technique for my old hookah which I had for two years but buying a brand new one for £50, I thought I wouldn't have to do things like that! Abit unfortunate really, to be honest! I guess I will have to deal with it for the time being. Im pretty sure that I wont be shopping there again. First impressions always are the last. Just waiting for the phunnel bowl, narbish hose and coco-naras..I hope these make a change!

antouwan
imo if i didn't have a replacement grommet, i would demand they mail me one that is not torn. just because you bought it on sale does not mean they can sell you something that doesn't function properly. . .that is unless you knowingly bought it 'as is' which doesn't sound to be the case. SweetNut
I cleaned my KM as soon as I opened it... there was some gunk in the hose port and in the stem.... so give it a good scrubbin and try again...
rj_skillz
Exactly! I have paid good money for the hookah kit and I think I deserve a untorn grommet. I have also taken pictures from when I unpackaged the hookah and took a few detail pictures showin that the grommet was torn. I have emailed the vendor..so lets see what they say in reply! Yeah when I did open up the parts of the hookah, I found it to be quite dirty. I didnt mind giving it a clean because it wasnt as bad after I did..but when you buy something from a hookah to a game console, you imagine it to be in full working order and for that to happen, it needs to have the specific parts, in this case..the grommet! Why should I use the paper towel technique on a brand new hookah? Im pretty cheesed off about this.

Im pretty cheesed off about this.trust me i know where your coming from, but the more you stay in this hobby the more you'll see even if you spend $250 on a hookah you may find something wrong with it..its not always perfect..but the guy should send you a few grommets for the trouble in return..but for future refrences one of the main things thats over looked is grommets..and not just stem but hose and bowl...so i always keep stocked up on all grommets and i suggests you do that has well...for rainy days atleast.. NIGHTS OF BAGHDAD
thats is a good looking hookah, and i dont usually care for those mya style non-washable hoses but that one i like..i like the color scheme to it and the handle is nice too.. btw not sure if it has been said or not but even though they claim to be washable those hoses are not washable..it will rust on you..so i suggest to just blow hard thru it after each use to get the smell and taste out..it wont get out all the way but it will help..for your next hookah investment highly suggest a washable hose if you havent already, like narbish,nammor,grand.. RingsMaster
from my experince when the coals start to go out and you put new ones on it taste like crap for a couple min until the bowl gets nice and warm again then the flavor will come back
rj_skillz
its happen many times before to me..thats why i've decided to experiment with the coco-naras! I hear alot of good things about em..one being that because they are natural, no chemicals are left off which may affect the taste of your smoke.
