Should I Be Expecting A Big Difference?

Recommended Posts

So... I've been smoking my moderate stash of HookahHookah.
Should I be expecting a big difference in taste and buzz when I snarf a funnel full of tangiers peach iced tea?
In my research I have consistently found that the shisha will be WET WET WET and apparently if I stick a twig into the funnel a significant buzz should be had.
I just wonder if this is gonna be a subtle thing or like a "WOW!!" experience?

pfff HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Wow. Ok then. I am HOPING that my stuff comes by Saturday so I can experience this life-changing event before I have to go back to work.

Yea, people laughed at my post about "my best session ever" wherein I smoked hookahhookah and blew a lot of smoke rings. I suppose soon I'll be laughing at HookahHookah too. I had some AF shisha start to smell/taste different after having it stored for a month so I changed to this cheap hookahhookah stuff. I guess I can chalk it up as a learning experience!

Jager... hahahahaha hilarious.

Yeah, I saw in your intro thread that the AF you had smelled like licorice... What flavor of AF was it? Some of AF's flavors are hit or misses, and if it was AF Double Apple, it's straight licorice pretty much. I'm not too crazy about AF period. Stick to Nakhla and Tangiers and you'll be in hookah heaven.

Yeah, if you got regular Tangiers then you might have some trouble... I would've gone with Lucid, to be honest. Just make sure you acclimate it and pack it right before you smoke it.

Definitely make sure you have some idea as to how to do it right.

well, i HAVE been meaning to ask what "acclimate" means in respect to tobacco. Let the temperature of the stuff reach room temp? Like a goldfish that you're moving to a new tank? help!

I shall read the guide when my package arrives and then... showtime!

also, it WAS Double Apple AF Shisha. One was double apple and one was er... I Think a blueberry flavor but on the can it had a picture of a blackberry. Hilarious but also PURE licorice.

gotta find a shallow container to throw it and as much of the juice as u can squeeze out of the package into...let it sit open for 4 hours, then lid it and toss it in a cabinet or s'thing for 20 hours..if it doesn't smell like soy sauce or crap after that you're probably good to go...worked for me so far

Tangiers is WAY better than hookah

The tobacco lasts twice as long
the flavor is allot stronger
the flavor dose not go away
the buzz is incredible
the taste of quality tobacco

some hookah-hookah is ok, but its a long way from tangiers.

Be sure to read up-- the hype surrounding this top-shelf shisha is as well-deserved as it's sensitivity to smoking prep/technique.

You will get back from it what research you put in; I wasted a lot of OG before truly respecting packing methods. I am not a fanboi, but it is my favorite shisha by far. I always have 4 kilos on-hand at all times. If it isn't the best smoke you've had, review the variables and try again. smile.gif Best of luck!

I'm going to say no.

My first bowl of Tang was soooo sad. This is nothing at fault of Tang though, but rest assured, you will most likely fuck up your first bowl.

When you get it right though, ZOMG!

+1

if you get lucky, you'll have a good first bowl....but, most likely not....either way, i wouldn't give up on Tangiers...the reward is worth the effort...

Try going into new experiences without expectations.

Btw i can only imagine what someone would say if they walked in your room while you were making your avatar

Lol. I was thinking that...

I am one of the rare few that had no problems with his first bowl of Tangiers. So take it easy on the pre-research is my advice. IF it doesn't work out for you, do some more research and try out suggestions.

I went at it blind, and the first bowl was fine. Took some practice and research to get it consistent, but then I was still a serious noob (now just a semi-noob) to hookah in general and couldn't get much consistency out of any shisha.

And on the acclimation business: if it smells fine in the bag, and after your dump it in whatever you're going to store it in, mix it up... after 20 minutes if it still smells fine, mix it up again and let it rip. Not every one needs to acclimate. Dunno why, but I don't anymore... don't think I ever really had to, but I was just following the common wisdom.

I know this sounds weird, but do it anyway. FEEL the bag before you open it. Squeeze it, press your finger into it firmly, dont try to push a hole in the bag or anything but just press into it. Feel the density of the shisha in the bag. THEN try to replicate that same density in the bowl when you pack it. When it's in the bowl, press your finger into the tobacco, if it feels squishier than what it felt like in the bag, you'll need more tobacco. If it feels similar or dead on, you got it right. Then when you put the coals on the bowl, start them standing up, on their side. Wait a bit. Dont try for thunder clouds right away. Just ease into the smoke. As it goes on, the coals have ashed a bit, place them down on their broad side. Ease back in again.

This is all of course, after you have acclimated the tobacco, after it smells like it's supposed to. Air the tobacco out in the storage apparatus you intend to use for it. Leave it for 4 hours. Stirring once an hour or so. Then cover it up and leave it over night. Do nothing until you intend to pack the bowl. Smell the tobacco. Does it smell like peach iced tea? Yes? Pack it. Do the previous tips.
