For your own sake, do a warmup session when trying something new. Whether it's coals, packing method or bowl technology, it is always better to smoke solo the first time so you don't have any anxieties of hosting for friends.

Then you will know what to do when it comes time to perform shisha-hosting duties smile.gif
Respect Tangier's sensitivities and Tangier's will honor you with respect as a hookah aficionado... not to mention the pinnacle of smoking sessions.

There's a few good tutorial floating around on here and in the videos section for packing Tangiers. The buzz is pretty strong, but you can mix OG and Lucid to make the buzz not as great.

OG- Full on flavor, sometimes can have a slight tinge, but after smoking alot of Tangiers, it goes away. Heavy Buzz

Lucid- Washed, still plenty of flavor, I really really enjoy it and it doesnt buzz me at all

F-Line(caffeinated) Strong buzz like OG, but I think the caffeine in it keeps you going through it. Its also discontinued right now, so if you want to try it, I'd get it now before its all gone.

i stick with lucid cause its ready to smoke out of the bag and i dont feel like playing mad scientist with the regular tangiers..my favorite lucid so far is horchata and i highly doubt it will ever be replaced by any other tangiers flavor..

+1 for the lucid horchata!

lucid, haven't had a problem since the first go.....original..I think i have the art down decently, but it takes a bit too much messing with acclimation and heat control...still tastes amazing when ya get it right though.

I am one of the rare few who have never had what i would call an acclimation problem. My Tangiers always smells fine right out of the bag. I mix dump it in a container, mix it up, seal it up or smoke it.

I have had some of your more run of the mill smoking problems, but then you can have those with any shisha. Its all about learning to use your equipment and materials, and adjusting.

These days, I don't smoke anything but Tangiers, though I have a stack of others: Nahkla, AF, Romman... just don't touch the stuff.

Personally only ever tried the unwashed line...I tried 6-7 different flavors. I love the Kashmir flavors the other ones I tried were kinda flavorless actually,But that coulda been some sort of acclimating issue who knows.

Yes see and that accumulation thing is another that scares me i hope i can get it rite..

This has pretty much been my experience. F-line makes me smoke it like a fiend. But its awesome.

Noir - original. its unwashed, can give a buzz if your not a regular smoker. heavy tobacco taste.

lucid - a lite version of the original

F-line - gimmick IMO. no noticeable difference in buzz.

I would have to disagree completely. Most certainly not a gimmick or else the stop to its production would never have occurred. There are two stimulants in the mix (though there are depressant effects of nicotine as well)--- Not sure why Eric calls it F-line, but around my friends, the F is for lays you the Fuck out. We block out a night for F-line... make sure we aren't going out.

What do you mean by gimmick? It's a caffeinated tobacco product. It was never advertised or meant to give you a bigger buzz. People don't react to caffeine the same, much like nicotine. Do you get a bigger buzz when you drink coffee or tea when you smoke?

I've had much better luck with Lucid than I have with OG. I feel like I never get the full flavor and experience of OG because of either acclimating problems or heat management issues. Lucid is for me is always amazing though, and I do tend to get buzzed off of it. I like Lucid, it's easier, somewhat 'noob friendly'.

i dont like the Og tangiers..i got 3 flavors Brambleberry watermelon and melon blend all 250g i smoked one small punnel bowl out of each flavor and i think im going to try and trade for lucid stuff..

Well honestly, my experience of tangiers is this.

I got OG orange soda in a trade about 2 years ago and watched all the videos (although there weren't many at the time) and read all the advice and worked with it. First session was amazing and for a while I had great sessions. But then I hit a slump where I couldn't pack bowls right, acclimate correctly, or manage the heat. Something was going on. So I brushed up on all the info I looked at the first time and finally got it back to where it was awesome. Stick with OG and you won't be dissappointed when you get it right.

Lucid: Great flavor but it feels like it lacks something (not the buzz) it just feels like it lacks the robustness of OG. Great when acclimation is a problem though.

OG: Great buzz when you first start using it (wore off for me now) and the flavor is full and rich.

F-line: Buzz wasn't really noticeable when I tried it because I had been smoking tangiers for so long. But it seems that it packs even more of a flavorful punch. Honestly though switching between F-line and OG doesn't hurt my feelings (even though I would like F-line to continue).

I'd recommend getting a little lucid and a little OG. Smoke the lucid with friends until you get the OG down smoking solo. My first lucid flavor was Peach Iced tea and it was amazing so I'd recommend it off the bat. (strangely enough I don't like peaches lol)

I just recently bought my first pack of Tangiers Noir.
I got the Lemon flavor.
When I first got it, I tried smoking it right out of the pack and it made me feel really sick and I ended up vomiting.
I let it acclimate for over 24hrs, mixing it every so often when I got around to it.
It is much MUCH better now.
I get a lot of smoke, good flavor, and a fat buzz.
I haven't gotten that sick feeling or vomiting since that first time.
I have already bought 2 packs of Lucid so I think that helped by giving me good practice.
Unfortunately, I finished my Lucid Horchata, but I will try to get some Noir Horchata when I can as it is definitely my favorite flavor so far.
My suggestion for you if you are having bad results is to leave it in an open container for 24 hours and see if it gets better after that.
If not, you could set it aside and try Lucid until you get good at that and then try going back to the Noir. Edited by Jondd88

I'm going to have to disagree here. If you are having trouble, the stock response shouldn't be "acclimation issues." The only time acclimation should be your primary concern is when the tobacco smells funky for a long time and you have trouble smoking it. Furthermore Eric has been suggesting the use of 4/20 acclimation where you laeve the container open for four hours (preferably the time of day when you plan on smoking) then close it for twenty hours.

Mine didn't smell funky though.
It smelled just like lemons before and after acclimation.
I was not familiar with the 4/20 method so I just left it out for several hours.
I tried it again and it was a little better but still very harsh, so I let it sit out for about 24 hours and now it works great.
I am not saying acclimation IS the problem and WILL fix it, I am just giving a suggestion as to what MIGHT help based on my personal experience.
