shaffaaf27
yeah i have used that alot, but i still cant get shit to work! out of 6 flavuors i have (4 OG, 2 Lucid), one works, (Lucid KCherry). OG Orange soda works, but its pretty throat tickley, and Kpeach OG sometimes works, with QLs, but never with Nats. the rest dont work (i.e harsh and/or thin smoke, OR no flavour)
Hunkies!
same here, I currently have lucid schnozzberry and OG passion fruit. the schnozzberry's is the only one ive got to work. on the other hand the passion fruit will not acclimate, ive tried the 4/20 method for about five days now but i still get the burnt or soy sauce smell. Ill have to try that warm water method though.

dizzbizz
Well I smoked Lime tonight the ol' #60. I packed it pretty tight and not too much over the rim. About 1/4 of an inch, put the foil on, squished it flat, and poked a ton of toothpick size holes all the way towards the bottom. 3 and a half coco's, then added warm water. Considering its ages old, it had great flavor, fantastically huge clouds, and no harshness. NOB - Yeah you could say I packed it like Eric. I imitated the hole pattern, except no holes in the middle, and packed it tight.Hunkies - My lime(and the rest of the flavors I own, Maraschino cherry and even strawberry) still smell like soy sauce. When I first acclimated these a month ago I let them sit out for 2 days, which gave me no results, I let them sit in the tub for a day, then tried the 4/20. Still smelled like soy/bbq sauce. Smoked it anyway that night(Zinite told me to just ignore it) and it tastes great. I still had that tickle until tonight when I added warm water instead of cold or room temperature.EDIT- However the down side to having so much heat is that you need to keep puffing or else it'll burn if it sits. But the 3 and a half got it going instantly my second hit was ENORMOUS and delicious. On my second round of coals I only put 3 cocos it was hitting just as good. NIGHTS OF BAGHDAD
i found for myself if i dont punch holes in the middle it doesnt work..
dizzbizz
Yeah, I. dont understand what the purpose is. Maybe so the foil wont stick to the hole, but if you pack it right you wont have that problem.
shaffaaf27
so i acclimated OG classic raspberry. packed it, (used warm water) very harsh, thin smoke, so i packed more. much better, still a tickle. had the holes in he middle, then added a piece of foil to the top middle, to cover the holes, and it stopped the "rush" so to speak of the smoke, where with tang, i get it coming in very quickly into my lungs, and it helped, BUT no falvour, and only half decent smoke
dizzbizz
How many coals are you using? and maybe you need to use more tobacco and more heat.
shaffaaf27
4 cocos, or 2 full 40mm ql 3kings
Codename067
Figuring out how to pack Tangiers right is like figuring out how to make woman orgasm. Nothing but downhill once achieved..
Rani
QUOTE (shaffaaf27 @ Nov 28 2009, 08:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>4 cocos, or 2 full 40mm ql 3kingsThat's a hella lot of heat. Too much in my opinion. Surprisingly, for my particular "hand" with Tangiers I get better results in a regular Egyptian packed high and heavy with one CH coal. If I'm using one of my funnels, I have to break the coals down to get three halves and move them a lot. The Egyptian works better for me with less maintenance. Plus with a whole coal I'm getting a minimum of 45 minutes to an hour out of each coal. Let it cool for a couple hours, pop on a new coal and it's like a freshly packed bowl.'Rani
Codename067
Yes Rani, 4 COCOS is with out a doubt a bit much. They are rather large coals compared to other coals, and they give an inseane amount of heat...
NIGHTS OF BAGHDAD
4 coco's to much man, try 2 coco's cut in half..so 4 small pieces that should do the trick..
shaffaaf27
when i say 4, i do mean 2 in halves, therefor 4 pcieses. i haev also tried 3 coals on their side, and 3 flat aswell.
Codename067
Oh, my mistake. 4 pieces [cut up from 2 original cocos] is very reasonable.
Sonthert
2x33mm 3 Kings is too much, too. 3/4 of a 33mm (broken into quarters) is enough for a small, 4 quarters for a medium or a large.
shaffaaf27
sorry ance again, 2 being 2 halves of one, 40mm, opposite each other.PS eric, i got classic OG raspberry going, everythign was good bar lack of flavour, any idea why? shaffaaf27
i thought so too, but the tobacoo had not much flavour to the smell, and i did the 4/20 acclimation for about 3 days straight.
Sonthert
If you're using a Mya, clean the hookah real well using beer/diluted rubbing alcohol or baking soda and lemon juice (vinegar). Otherwise, its acclimation.
shaffaaf27
nop it was a KM. though i have tried it with both. damna cclimation, i have doen your 4/20 for 3 days straight and it still smells the same, smokes good, sans flavour.
